Came back to this Hotel after fourteen years. It hasn't changed! Well located with its own car park, albeit €8 per day. I can't understand why the owners haven't refurbished the place. The lobby is a curious mix of 1960s concrete, chandeliers, copper fireplace and odd furniture. The rooms are comfortable but very dated. On the food side they give you access to a laundry on the sixth floor. Very close to the towns bars and restaurants. Overall, it is difficult to recommend but if you need the facilities of a 4* hotel, however dated, it may suffice. Don't park on the street after 6pm on Thursday night to avoid the car park fee as a weird small print rule might cost you a €60 fine as it did to one of my friends- even though the sign said free parking from 6pm.

Retro effect The hotel is very well situated for the town and the great range of restaurants. Breakfast was plentiful with all of the usual cheeses, meats, cereals and pastries. I found the lighting in the rooms awkward and the decor was very much dated. A little modernisation would be good for the hotel as it is stuck in a bit of a time warp. It felt like going back to the 1980's. However, There should be no reason why you wouldn't enjoy staying as all of the staff I encountered were very pleasant and were only too willing to help.

Business trip Avoid. I have never seen such flat quilts and rooms very dated. Location is good and staff very friendly but I personally wouldn't go back. Garden need weeding generally very tired could do with facelift.

Needs an update Convenient location for the centre of Heerlen and the staff were friendly and efficient. Public areas are fine but the rooms are like taking a trip back 20 years. Old, tired and showing wear. Electric socket hanging off fixing, carpets worn, walls marked and a large antiquated TV. Free WiFi is good news but having to pay for very cramped parking less so. Breakfast buffet was OK. Adequate for a business trip but certainly not somewhere to treat yourself.
