Hickory H.I.E We stayed 2 nights during a business trip. No real issues at all. Front desk staff very friendly at check-in and check out. Room was clean, Beds were comfortable - no issues, A/C worked, TV worked, and breakfast was very good. I would stay again without hesitation. If I am being picky, it could use some sprucing up with fresh paint and bathroom update and possibly some decor, but all in all it was a pleasant stay, microwave, and fridge in the room. breakfast had decent options. lots of on site parking.

Nice but nearby racetrack noise Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was good and rooms seemed relatively quiet. Only problem was nearby racetracks sound carried and sounded like the racing cars were much closer than the miles away they actually were. They would race until midnight which was a sleep disturbance.

If I could offer two bits of advice to hotel ownership, bath towels need to be replaced, they were very much on the thin side. Also, maybe a bigger TV in the room, it was a little on the small side but it worked fine and I am not staying in a room based on watching TV so no worries.

Take your bug spray I wasn’t going to write about this experience, but it’s time to speak out. We spent one night and I woke up with pain in my back and blood on the sheets w/bug bites all over my back. They comped the room saying it was a spider. Still dealing with it!

Loud street racing on weekends The hotel itself is nice, clean, updated, etc. the problem is the location on 70. If you stay on Friday or Saturday all you can hear until 3am is street racing on 70. No police presence to stop it, so if you want sleep, good luck. It would likely be the same for all hotels in the area. If you stay on a weekend try to get a room on the back of the building. It may be better. The hotel did offer to move us which was nice but we chose not to pack up and switch rooms due to the hour.
