Quick Night stay with a 6 year old! We booked this hotel for 1 night on our way to Cornell. It was exactly what we needed for the night. The negative reviews are because of the pool, however, if you read/research before you book then you are aware and everything else is great. The room was clean, towels and room smelled fresh. The front desk worker Kelly was so nice and welcoming. We even got free sugar cookies when we arrived. In the morning breakfast was standard options, waffle, bagels, muffins, cereal, sausage gravy and biscuits. Everything tasted good and the gentlemen who attended the breakfast was constantly refilling and wiping down tables. Before we left we even were told we could take some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The area has a lot of dining options as well and a mall. I would definitely stay here again if need be. Great job! Thank you for your hospitality.

great place to Stay Date of Stay: May 30th, 2024 This was our first time (that I know of) staying at a Country Inn & Suites Hotel, and it was a great stay. We were very impressed with the quality of the hotel. Upon entry, there is a beautifully appointed & decorated common area. The check-in desk staff was very friendly and engaging. Our room was spacious and bright. It was clean and fresh. The beds were comfortable and clean, with great bedding, decent sheets, and comfortable pillows. The bathroom was very spacious and clean and the shower head is high enough for tall people to be comfortable. The breakfast is complimentary and good. It is consisting of hot and cold items. There is an excellent Gym/fitness centre with excellent equipment. A Nice Pool in the hotel as well. This is a great place to stay, and very close to many great attractions nearby. This would be a great place to call home when you take a road trip to the finger lakes and area.

Meh The good: The staff is very pleasant, and the room was clean. Breakfast is pretty lackluster but it’s what you’d expect from this kind of hotel. The bad: They advertise that they have a pool. They do not. It has been closed for renovations for years. I wouldn’t have booked this particular hotel if I had known in advance. On our 2nd day I overheard the woman at the front desk tell other guests that they were offering free cancellation because of it - this was not offered to me and they didn’t even tell us that the pool would be out of service for our entire stay. Even if offered it’s pretty ridiculous though - on a holiday weekend I’m going to cancel when I arrive at the hotel and somehow find another hotel in the area that has a vacancy and a pool? I was really looking forward to swimming with my family and we’re all pretty disappointed. They also boast fresh cookies 24/7. They rarely have cookies in the lobby. It’s not a big deal, but it just annoyed me on top of the pool issue. They are also out of soap and shampoo.

Country Inn Elmira I had much higher hopes for this hotel. We were told as we checked in that the pool and ice machines were not working. No problem, we could live without the ice and not using pool anyway. But the smoke smell hit us as soon as we opened the door. It permeated the air and must have been in the carpet. No soap in bathroom and when we asked for some the front desk told us that the order did not come in and they had none. Okay, we can go without for the night. The bed was okay, pillows were comfy enough. Shower was hot but the bath mat was not clean and one of the washcloths had significant brown stains. Lots of spills stains on bathroom door and wall. At that point we had had enough and did not even look at the breakfast options.

Greatly disappointed … My husband and I have always been big fans of the Country Inn and Suites brand! The room was fine but a few things were of concern and caused much disappointment! First off, the bath towels were small and not proper bath towel size! When we asked for a couple more towels we were given pool towels! Also, other than the pool being closed, the ice machine was out of order. So, from that point on it was disappointment after disappointment! The final straw was breakfast. What a pathetic selection it was, to say the least! No danishes even though the labeled tray was there. In terms of hot breakfast, other than biscuits and sausage gravy, no eggs, or bacon or anything else! I had to settle for toasts and peanut butter, and a boiled egg. Hardly any fruits or yogurt… All in all, one of the worst breakfast sections we have ever come across. Unacceptable for a hotel chain like Country Inns and Suites. I usually do NOT write bad reviews, but we checked out feeling greatly dissatisfied and disgruntled.
