Not Hilton Family Standard. Front staff was helpful and good location near the mall. We booked a room with two beds but downgraded to one bed room, front desk told they will reduce the rate but never applied at check-out. Only one elevator was working which was very inconvenient. Breakfast was ok with very limited options, chef was preparing vegetable and meat omelettes using same spatula and on same griddle.

Poor Representation of the Hilton and Embassy Suites brands To start off positive, the staff was very friendly. I did find it interesting that when I was speaking to one of the front desk staff about the problem locating a working ice machine, the person with a manager tag on just stood there….no apology or explanation…didn’t even bother to make eye contact. The front desk staff offered to go and get me ice from the kitchen. Which leads me to believe that perhaps it’s a management problem, particularly given the problems I detail below. First the property is in dire need of a renovation. It is disturbing that a review reported that the elevators weren’t working properly in May and in July both still aren’t working efficiently (i.e., one not working at all and the other very slow). It was also concerning that when we called to inform them that none of the plugs on the lamps were working properly, the maintenance man happily told us that none of them work in the hotel since they were purchased from China. He went on to tell us that we needed to find plugs around the walls and behind the furniture to plug into. Seriously?? Similarly, when we informed the kitchen staff that one of the toasters didn’t work, her response was, yes, we know. Again…Seriously?? Toasters don’t cost that much but instead of replacing it you leave it there for the guests to figure it out themselves?? Next, the fact that they have signs on each floor directing you to vending that only leads you to an open room with old haphazardly stacked furniture? Why not just take the sign down? Months ago a review said no ice machines were working, I guess they made the choice to just remove them but leave the signs? Lastly, the room itself needs a better paint job. The painters were obviously in a hurry or just didn’t care and it definitely shows. Embassy Suites is usually a favorite brand for my family and if I was new to the brand, I doubt I would ever stay in one again. And as of now, I know I will never stay at this property again.

Embassy Suites GALLERIA HOUSTON. Elevators are in need of repair. One arrives to the lobby level and takes about 2 minutes to go down the last inch before the door opens. The other one bounces at every stop. We arrived on Saturday. First room ,the thermostat wasn't working. Changed rooms. Each time we returned to the room we had to get the keys redone because none worked. No ice machines in the hotel work. Pull out bed had just one small pillow. No one came to clean our room on our second day there. We were given wrong information about the breakfast hours. At happy hour we weren't able to get the drinks we wanted because they ran out of the liquor we wanted. Not the greatest experience!

Criminally Bad Internet Access If you plan to get any work done . . . stay somewhere else! I am sitting in he hotel now (2/24/2024) and the Hilton Honors Embassy WiFi is delivering 5Mbps; up and down. It also disconnects randomly. I am having to watch web pages slowly load block by block. It is just adding to my stress - as I would like to be able to do something productive - while I wait 4 more days for feedback on my cancer treatment at MD Anderson. It is criminal (maybe literally) for a $200+ per night property to be advertising internet access that doesn't even meet the minimum specifications to be considered broadband. Heck . . . these speeds are slower than discount cellular service.

Good location and free parking I wouldn’t rate it as a 4, but it is a solid 3.0-3.5. The elevator scares the crap out of you and only one is working so that definitely drops it a half a star. They have a good offering for the evening reception but I felt hassled a bit since we didn’t have something we are supposed to show him. The hotel was pretty clean for being an older facility. The shower door did not close all the way even though it looked like it had been updated not too long ago. The pool is indoor but not heated so not warm enough to swim. We booked it for having an indoor pool so that was disappointing. Breakfast was good but all of the hot stuff was behind a counter unlike many of the ES that I have been to. That has its pros and cons. Only one person was working but he seemed efficient. I stayed here previously and did not have a good experience so this time was much better. The staff were all very nice this time.
