The hotel is closing for good. Stayed there last night. Bathroom seem to have been updated, but furniture is still a little dated. No breakfast. But all that will become irrelevant soon, as the hotel staff informed me the hotel is closing for good as of today July 18, 2021. Bankruptcy they said. If a buyer is found and the hotel is saved, it won't continue to be a Hampton Inn, according to the staff.

Terrible hotel! Stay Away! Trip took place since end of May but thought to share our horrible experience at this particular Hampton Inn Houston Westchase. It all started when we're checking in at around 10 PM on Sat evening and were told that they don't have our reservation, which we booked as a bundle through Costco. How could that be! The lady was so rude! She picked up the phone and talked to someone without explaining what she's planning to do to resolve the situation. She was on the phone for a while and left us standing there. Finally, she gave us a room and a key...without much acknowledgement!! Came into our room, no towels whatsoever. Called to the front desk, tried to explain that we need towels and she's immediately snapped at me that she's one person and hung up the phone..OMG! When I was in the lobby waiting for her to check me in, I heard she said the same thing to someone else on the other line, which I didn't think it would happen to me. Anyway, I called again (about 2 more times), she didn't pick up and she probably knows which room the call is from. Gave up and asked my husband to walk down to the front desk. There were tons of people waiting to be checked in so he didn't get a chance to ask. No towels for the night!! But guess what else is wrong...the hairdryer didn't work and it was dirty like it hasn't been wiped for many years. The next day, there was another, younger lady at the front desk with much more pleasant personality!! I thought that was all our ordeal...no. I was wrong. The bill came, Costco charged me before the trip and Hampton Inn also charged me....double dip! I've been trying to get my money back since June. Costco said they provided a virtual card but Hampton didn't charge that card but charged me instead. Wow really! So now Costco sent them another card but I have been calling the hotel several times since last week to make sure that they received the card from Costco and when I should expect to receive my refund and no one picked up the phone. After 5-6 rings it said the line is busy and hung up on its own. Today I clicked on their website and it says the page is not found. What's going on? Is that how you operate a business? Stay away from this hotel! Pay a little more and stay at a more decent hotel with a better service all around! I will provide this feedback to Costco to warn people...DO NOT do business with this hotel! It truly brings the name Hilton down to the mud.

You get what you pay for. At less than $100 per night, I guess I shouldn’t have expected more, but this Hampton doesn’t meet the standards of the brand that we’ve come to rely on as a clean, economical place to stay. The carpet was very worn, the whole place needs paint, the mattress had a lot of miles on it, and the bathroom was less than impeccably clean.

Improvement Needed! I stayed here for three nights this past weekend. My rate with tax was $66.03 per night, a great deal! Service - There was very rarely anyone at the front desk, ever. I encountered three different front desk staff during my stay. A gentleman who assisted me during check-in: He was fine. No acknowledgment of Diamond status and I was not offered a complimentary bottle of water. A female who assisted me with getting more towels: She promptly brought them up to my room. A female (Evelyn) who assisted me during check-out: She was a delight. Very friendly. Room - Room is showing its age. Tears in carpet, three strange small pillows on the bed, mattress was comfortable, but bed sheet and comforter were both very thin. Microwave. AC in the room worked great (wall unit). Mini-refrigerator in the room worked great. Wi-fi was fast and I did not have to re-connect after I initially signed in my first night. No Do Not Disturb door hanger. Bathroom had two small and thin towels, one face towel, and no washcloths. No toilet paper holder, toilet seat did not stay up, part of shower head was missing, but shower water pressure and temperature were great, no small bottle of shampoo. Counter space was adequate for all of my toiletries. Hotel Information - The hotel has 82 rooms and 3 floors. The porte-cochère always had cars parked in it and along the fire lane. Not sure why this was allowed. Complimentary parking. Never had an issue finding a parking spot. I did not find anything wrong with the third floor hallway carpet. They are using COVID-19 as an excuse to not have breakfast AT ALL (not even a grab and go bag). This is the first I have encountered this at a Hampton Inn property. I have stayed at 51 other Hampton Inn properties over the past three years and many during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the ONLY one that does not offer ANYTHING for breakfast. From a brand standard perspective, that is awful. Location - It is located in Oak Park at Westchase in the Westchase District, right next to Bellaire Boulevard, which is the epicenter of Houston’s large Chinese and Vietnamese community. There is a Chick-fil-A, Starbucks with drive-thru, Denny’s, McDonald’s, The Home Depot, gas stations, and hundreds of Asian restaurants and retailers nearby. Here are distances to some local spots: The Galleria is 8 miles. Rice University is 11 miles. Texas Medical Center Campus is 12 miles. Buffalo Bayou Park is 13 miles. NRG Stadium is 14 miles. Houston Zoo and Hermann Park is 15 miles. Minute Maid Park and BBVA Stadium are 15 miles. University of Houston is 16 miles. Downtown Houston is 19 miles. William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is 23 miles. George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is 35 miles. Remember, traffic in Houston is INSANE! It will take you a long time to get anywhere from this hotel. This would not be a hotel I would recommend. Improvement is needed to bring it up to Hampton Inn brand standards.

Ghetto and rude Waited at the front desk for 20minutes to check in for my room, once the clerk finally showed up coming out from the room in the back, she did not apologize but instead assumed that I did not have a reservation already and said “we don’t have anymore room, we’re sold out” when all I’ve said when I saw her was a simple “hello”. Once I explained to her about having a paid reservation already she started to said rude comments as she was checking me in through the system “why did you check in so DAMN late, got the whole day to do and you’re just doing now??”. As if the customer live next door and didn’t have to drive for several hours to get there.
