Boutique, let’s hope not What a dump. Public areas were disgusting. I pointed out to three different managers that the restrooms were vile and over a two day period of time nothing was done. The shower curtain on our suite had some type of brown/rust colored bodily fluid smeared all over it and on the wall. I took three calls to managers and my raising my voice to get anything done. Further, Westin doesn’t seem to care because there is no one to speak with. The only people in that entire building that had a concept of customer service were the bar tender and the maintenance man. He was awesome and even left a note apologizing for our troubles. He should be the manager as the others could learn from him. If you have a choice, don’t waste your money on the Magnolia in Houston. I thought it would be a fun departure from bigger flags but I was totally wrong.

No Services! We came to Houston for a business trip. There are five different rooms in our group. There is no bar open. There is no restaurant open. They do not service your room while you’re here. There’s a weak breakfast spot that is very slow, but open in the morning. If you’re coming to Houston, and expecting any kind of an evening or afternoon life, don’t stay here!. They blame the fact that they cannot find employees, and they don’t clean your room. Find somewhere that still services your room.

Great long weekend The hotel is lovely and the staff is excellent. I imagine it is really great when things are back to normal! The location is in a perfect part of downtown. They are dog freely and do not charge. I give them 5 stars. There was no scary, freaked out Covid feel. It was very relaxing and fun. Great valet staff too. (I am in the USA so the question about English speaking staff below is very odd!)

A boring place to stay Spent valentines weekend night here as a staycation and to have dinner downtown. Valet and check in were easy and the room was clean. All of the services were closed except for the gym and outdoor swimming pool. The hotel lobby is so small and with the wind blowing in as the doors opened, was freezing. For an older hotel, this place just has no ambiance. Got back to our room Saturday evening and about 11:30PM our floor erupted into a major party brawl, with angry yelling, doors slamming, women crying. We called down to the front desk and complained, so not sure what happened, but the noise went on for another 45 minutes. I think to save money the hotels are packing everyone onto the same floors and same corners of the floor, which kind of defeats the whole covid thing you would think. We saw all of the people checking in carrying cases of soda and handles of whiskey, so were hoping they would be on another floor. Anyway, I am a multi year Marriott Platinum, and see no reason to return to the Magnolia ever. BTW- the toilet leaked and not even a bottled water in the room

A four day stay in Houston My spouse and I had to conduct some business in Houston. We were very nurses about traveling to the US, because in the new it reported that most people refused to us masks. The day before arriving at the hotel we got an email explaining many of the hotels service has been curtailed because of COVID-19. We were not sure how this reduced service would impact our stay. We needed a place to stay, and we had to assume other hotels were taking similar measures to combat COVID; no food service, no maid service, and towel replacement upon request. The lack of maid service may have been the hardest compromise, since we were in the room for four days. Overall, the staff was very friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable; at least until the last day. The location was ideal to see Downtown Houston, via foot, and tram. All-in-all we had a nice stay. In light of the current reduction in services, it would have been nice to have had, some extra coffee, and towels in the room, since we were stay more than two days. Also, since the hotel is not providing breakfast, it would have been nice if the rooms had some complementary breakfast bars.
