Not staying there again We chose this hotel because of the location. We knew we wouldn’t be there much due to planned activities at a nearby campground but had hoped for something cleaner and quieter with better mattresses. The online reservation said continental breakfast but they did not offer it.

Avoid Definitely NOT a 3 and a half star facility. Walking in the air looked dirty. Carpets not vacuumed, dingy looking. Went to the room, bed was awful, room had a smell, and the toilet would not flush. Again, carpets had stuff all over. My recommendation? Go a little farther down the road. Much better places to stay.

An Expensive Dump Have stayed here multiple times throughout the years. Few building improvements in the last 20 years. Was a decent place to stay then. Will not stay here again. First the bathroom...toilet seat pealing, fan fixture hanging, shower curtain rod falling down. Toilet runs unless you jiggle the handle. Additionally, one light not working, stained desk chair. NO breakfast as advertised. Encourage you to look around for another place to stay. Not really that cheap anyhow. Place screams we don't care if we maintain this place because people are going to stay here anyhow because of its proximity to Shipshewana, IN. Stayed at a LaQuinta Inn the night before that was SO much nicer.

AWFUL, DIRTY, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. First off, pulling a small car on a trailer. When you pull in, you're directed to a lot WAAY in the back to park, then come in to register. I can understand if it's a big trailer or camper, but the regular lot was very big, VERY big, so didn't understand the need to park so far back. Also, there was two other vehicles towing trailers who simply parked on the side of the main lot. I have a bad left knee, so all that extra walking was very painful for me, especially in the extreme heat and humidity. $130 a night for a king bed for my daughter and I to share, not a problem. No elevator, so had to trudge up the (very dirty and old) carpeted back of the building stairs to our room. Oppressive and stunk. Upon entering, my daughter went back down to get the rest of our luggage. When I looked at the room, I was aghast at it's condition! Looked around and then pulled out my phone to video everything. 1) Obvious, visible stains all over the carpet. At one spot, where they'd originally laid the carpet, was a strip of ragged, worn carpet at the place where two pieces met. 2) A very obvious large stain on the bedroom chair. It actually looked like a thrift store buy, which isn't a bad thing, but it clearly needed shampooing. We didn't sit in it. 3) The bathroom floor was filthy, with clear hair and dirt all around and behind the toilet, as well as along the floor and edgings. 4) The shower curtain rod had evidently fallen off at some point in the past and you could see 3-4 prior sets of holes in the wall where they'd tried to reattach it. If they'd bothered with set screws it wouldn't have kept coming out. As it was, the latest "repair" had left the rod very loose and almost coming off the wall again, on both sides. 5) The shower curtain itself had magnets in the bottom corners as weights for inside the tub while showering. The mold that was inside was disgusting and more than obvious. 6) On the wall above the bed, it was clear that there appeared to have been some kind of painting or mural at some point in the past. What was there in it's place were two large (20" by 4") open, unpainted rectangles, with nail holes in them. Whatever was on that wall, was removed and they didn't even bother to repaint the area. 7) The TV stand was an older piece of furniture. It was hard to tell, but I deal in vintage items and it appears to have been some kind of hutch. It looks like they took off the top part of the hutch and used the bottom part for the TV stand. Wouldn't have been a problem, but when the two pieces were separated, they didn't bother to sand or refinish the top of the stand. All around the edges was at least 3-5" inch deep discoloration and nail holes where the original top had been removed. 8) The couch. chair, carpet and bedding were ALL completely different designs and patterns that didn't mesh at all. 9) Microwave dirty, with stains inside and on the glass plate. We didn't use it. There was more, but, suffice to say, it was just the worst. I had to use the towels on the carpet because I was afraid to walk on it barefoot. If we hadn't been so seriously exhausted from driving (1340 miles in 14 hours) we would have checked out and gone to another place, but we just needed sleep, neither of us could drive another minute. When we checked out, I had a very calm, quiet and non-judgmental conversation with the front desk, explaining just a few of the issues and how it was horrid they could charge ANY money for the condition of the rooms. I was in the hotel business for almost 10 years; for them to pass these off as habitable was, in my estimation, unconscionable. This place needs a 100% upgrade. This used to be a well known and popular company back in the day. If this is the condition they let their rooms stay in, then I will never be back.
