Life saving I’m going to make this as short as possible. I originally booked my stay at Holiday Inn Logansport and they double booked their rooms, so after a 20 hour drive I was without a hotel, plus they charged me for it. Holiday Inn sent me to another hotel that apparently they were going to pay for but that hotel said no. So from 4am to 7am I was just driving with my daughter with no where to go and no money because they took it out. I finally found a room at Home2Suites where I paid 409.00 I didn’t have to be told to calm down because I was on the phone with Holiday Inn trying to get my money back (I was yelling and cussing because at this point I’ve had my daughter in the car and awake more than 24hours). I was however outside not in the lobby. So I called Candlewood because another Holiday Inn told me they had rooms. I was frustrated and kind of irate from everything happening but Taazma was the first person to treat me like a person (even though I’m sure I came off as rude for her first impression of me). She showed empathy and was able to get me a room. The world needs more people like her. Everyone else just saw a crazy lady she actually saw that I was a mother with her daughter 3 states away from home and was understanding. I will forever be grateful for her. I’d give 20 stars if I could for her.

Poor Service to a Frequent Client Had an issue with another IHG brand hotel that resulted in a very poor night's sleep. Called this Candlewood and spoke with a rep by phone, explaining the situation and asking if I could check out of that hotel and come check in to Candlewood for the next day. I specifically asked if they had capacity to allow for a very early check-in (7 AM) and was told yes and encouraged to do so. No further requirements were mentioned by them. Upon arrival, the desk rep said she could do that but that there would be a 1/2 day fee for early check-in. I explained I was an IHG Platinum member (a benefit of which is that early check-in is included). I also repeated the overall situation and my talk with another rep there. Further, I explained that I would be staying using points, so there would be no full-day rate to calculate a fee on anyhow. She said there was nothing she could do and the half-day fee would be based on their 'full rack rate', which happened to be 100% higher than what it actually would have been to just book right then online. I asked to speak with a manager and was told they would not be in for at least two hours. I commented that yes that was probably true because they - like me - would like to get actual sleep. I left in disgust at the abysmally short-sighted and poor service, especially to a very frequent client. I went to another very similar IHG hotel, Staybridge Suites, who was more than pleased to accommodate me - and without fee. Candlewood properties? Never again!!!

Too far from raceway. Came to Indianapolis for the Indy 500. Thought this hotel was closer to the track. It was about 20 minutes northwest in an industrial park section. This meant, without a car, (thankfully we had one), there were few restaurants to easily get to. No breakfast at this hotel either. It came with a kitchen, but the cooktop didn’t work. And, the old a/c unit was so loud, I wasn’t sure we would be able to sleep. I complained about both, but nothing was done. Hotel was sold out. No where to move. This hotel would be much more attractive if they offered breakfast.

Average hotel On day of our check in, the front desk person was hardly accurate about his job. He did not differentiate between king beds and queen beds. Our first room was not good. On our request, it was changed to a better room. King bed and separate sitting room. Overall, normal experience. Nothing to praise about.

Noisy and stained and sticky floors I wanted to like this place, I really did. But the longer I stayed, the more I found stuff wrong. And I only stayed one night. The A/C was old and noisy. The refrigerator was noisy. There was a weird random GRRT! noise somewhere behind the bathroom wall. You couldn't hear it when the A/C was blasting away, but whenever the A/C shut off, there it was again. GRRT! My feet stuck to the floor, sneakers or slippers, stick stick stick. Big stain on the carpet. Several stains on the seat of one chair, stain on the arm of another. Greasy stain in the center of the table. Everything in the kitchen had a fine sticky film all over it. Forks & spoons were thin and cheap as they could be. GRRT! When I took a shower, I stepped out to get one of the tiny bars of soap. When I was done, I used the bathmat to mop up the water on the floor. It came up filthy. Both sides. How about not using dirty water when you clean a floor? GRRT! There is no lid on the toilet. Towels hang directly over the open toilet, so you do the math. GRRT! The curtains let light in at the bottom, so it never got very dark. GRRT! I called the front desk about the noise at about 1:30, & the person who answered said, Hmm, I don't know, nobody's ever complained about that before. GRRT! When I checked out, a sign at the front desk said that IHG wants to make right any problems. So I told the clerk about the problems. She made notes & took my phone number and said the manager would call me the next day. Never got a call. GRRT!
