Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites DFW Airport South by IHG

Better Than Most HIE's Better than many other HIE. Well stocked and fresh breakfast. Larger than normal room. Bad design though with the bathroom sink in the open room which is bad when sharing the room like I was. Comfortable mattress. Clean room. Quiet room. Absolutely no where to eat near hotel. Everything is on the other side of the freeway. Good location for traveling around the area for Arlington and downtown Dallas Free aiport shuttle arrived 15 minutes after calling for it. Friendly helpful driver.

Great place for a short stay Our plain was delayed causing a missed connection and a last minute hotel stay. This place tuned out to be a great choice. Nice room, comfy bed. Joseph the clerk that night was very helpful too. Breakfast was good, better then last HI Ex we stayed in. Eggs, biscuits, bacon, sausage , potatoes ++. Free shuttle to airport was also a plus.

OK The property was very nice. However, we arrived shortly before midnight from a missed flight. Tired and beleaguered, we went to our room, which by the way was great. The problem we had was when we called down for a wake up call for 6am. It was the old school system whereby you called a live person at front desk to initiate the wake up call. So we were sleeping away when all of a sudden we received a phone call at 1:20am from a man at the front desk just calling because they had a glitch in their system and wanted to ensure what was the wake up call time. This is problematic because we never did get the call. Just know before you go that you would safe to not be reliant if you have to catch an early flight.

Unhelpful Staff, Clearly Unhappy to Do Their Job I have never encountered lazier, rude, unhelpful staff in the field of hospitality. When requesting a pickup at the airport for my elderly parents, I was told it would be 15 minutes. Over an hour later, my poor parents were still standing at the airport, exhausted. When following up with the hotel staff a third time, they claimed they had told the driver several times but got defensive that they had many guests to pick up. (I was in the lobby for that hour waiting for them, I did not see any guests arriving from the pickup during this time). My elderly father had tried to obtain an Uber separately after such a long wait, but his International phone was not able to connect, he had no choice. When the driver finally did show up 1 1/2 hours later, the driver confirmed he had NEVER heard from the hotel manager until only a few minutes before. When I asked the front desk staff where the best place to exchange money nearby or nearest bank, I was rudely told "Go Google It". The hotel website FAQs clearly stated that breakfast was served from 6 AM. As I had to be at the airport by 7 AM, I was very disappointed to find this was not true. When I inquired with the hotel manager, he got hostile and demanded proof of the website. Two of the factors leading to my choice in choosing this IHG property or IHG at all were the breakfast and airport transfer. This hotel failed at both. I would never stay here again. I hesitate to choose an IHG again.

The ladies at front desk made my day After a very long handful of flights and a late departure despite being fully booked the Jamaican lady and her colleague (sorry don’t have their names) gave me a late check out. They were so adorable to deal with. Rooms were exceptionally clean. Shuttle to airport super efficient. Thanks for wonderful stay
