Holiday Inn Express Irwin (PA TPK Exit 67) by IHG

Not Great. Not up to Holiday Inn Express standards. Walls are paper thin. Voices in the hallway during the night were easily overheard. The room hadn't been properly cleaned. The desk was sticky. The drains in the tub and sink were slow. The room was 61 degrees when we walked in. Generally, disappointed. The only constant was the Holiday Inn breakfast, which was typical and fine. However, not many places to sit and eat. No pool. This hotel might have been okay for a person traveling for business, but i wouldn't recommend it for a family with kids.

Friendly staff, but very dirty guest room The front desk staff was friendly, day and night. The breakfast spread had a good variety. However, I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom floor had clearly not been cleaned - there was visible hair, dirt and stains. The comforter on the bed had visible brown stains, so I asked the front desk for a new one, which also had visible stains. Both nights we slept there, the room and bed sheets felt very humid/damp (No matter how we adjusted the air conditioning/fan), as if perhaps the sheets were still wet when they were put on. The room had a strong unpleasant smell when we first walked in. The windowsill had dead flies and visible dirt. It was a very uncomfortable stay and absolutely not worth the price we paid. I would not recommend this hotel.

Back on Team Holiday Inn Express! I've stayed at this property many, many times because I can get a good rate through a third party (Costco or Priceline). I always wondered why the Hampton across the street is much more expensive. Well, last week I got a deal at the Hampton and was very curious to see the difference. Disappointing! This could easily turn into a negative review of the Hampton so I'll just say Holiday Inn Express is much better in just about every category. I'll be back at HIE going forward.

Won’t be back We checked in the evening of 3/23/2023 around 7 pm. As soon as we got to the room, we learned our toilet would not flush. We went down and told the lady at the front desk and let her know we were going to get some dinner. She said she would check it out. We get back and she said “well you have to hold the handle down the whole time until all the water flushes out, but I’ll have maintenance check it in the morning”. Ok. Super inconvenient seeing as I have 3 women and a toddler, but maintenance can look at it. The morning of 3/24/23, we go down around 9 am and I ask if maintenance will come check the toilet. She said “oh they didn’t show up today. I’ll have the head of housekeeping look at it. He’s in a meeting.” Ok, I tell her we’re leaving for the day and to let us know because, again, this is super inconvenient. Anyways, we come back and I carry our stuff up to the room and find a sticky note stuck to our room door saying sorry they couldn’t fix it but “if you want a new room just let us know”. Why wouldn’t you have offered that the first day BEFORE I unpacked with a promise of maintenance fixing this stupid toilet?! So we spent our entire trip holding the toilet handle down. Sounds kinda stupid right? But it is really a pain in the butt. Then I get my receipt , check my bank account and I was charged $40 more than what was actually on my printed receipt. After the ridiculous toilet I convenience then I get overcharged. We come back home to Irwin a lot. This will be the last time we use Holiday Inn.

Nice Stay! I was plenty surprised at the great stay we had. I wish we had stayed for more than one night. The hotel is in a great location. Quiet and clean. The room had Dove products for toiletries. Very nice. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was included. They had a few options you normally don't find on a hotel breakfast buffet.
