Good value. Easy drive to Yellowstone. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Super nice staff. Convenient to Yellowstone. Not a lot of restaurant options that are open late if you stay late in the park. Free breakfast with lots of grab and go options. The kids liked the options. There was not a pullout bed because we got a standard double queen but there was plenty of room for us to set up our cot (since our kids did not want to share a bed). Very close to ATV/Dune Buggy rentals. There was a Subway nearby but I only saw it open once in three days. The restaurant across the way had an hour long wait. We found an excellent pizza place with good salads a few miles up the road. We at there three nights. Pretty much the only viable option unless we wanted to fight the crowds in West Yellowstone. I would still stay here again. It was very peaceful. Nice views and relaxing atmosphere. There was an extensive game room with video game systems, board games, and free-standing arcade type games. There was a pool and hot tub that we did not use but looked nice and clean. There was also a well-equipped exercise room. Laundry and vending. More reasonably priced than most everything in Yellowstone and many of the options in the Island Park area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Other than the drive to Yellowstone, which I knew when I booked, I have nothing negative to say about this place. The pictures on the website are actually accurate, which I can't say about most of the other places we stayed.

Great place to stay for a vacation in Yellowstone! We stayed here for 2 nights on our vacation to Yellowstone National Park. We would’ve stayed another night had we planned a little better. It’s conveniently located about 35 minutes from the Park and Mesa Falls on either sides. One could easily plan on spending a day or two at the park and another hiking through the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls. If you are looking to spend a day of water activities with a picnic lunch, Henry’s Lake is about 15 minutes away. The resort itself is nice. We stayed in a suite as we were visiting with family and needed a place with a kitchen. The suite had ample space with beds to accommodate 8 guests, a hot tub on the lower level and a deck on the first floor. The kids loved relaxing in the hot tub when we were not enjoying the outdoors. There is also a limited breakfast and the staff was friendly. One could also rent ATVs and bikes to explore through the forest. Overall a great stay !!

Great home base while visiting Yellowstone NationalPark. My family visited Island Park and Yellowstone in August. Sawtelle Mountain Resort was the perfect home base. My kids were given free activity bags when we checked in. they loved the coloring pages and play dough. I loved that they had something to keep them busy in the car while we drove around the park. Management was great and the breakfast lady was a little grumpy, but she kept everything clean, breakfast hot, and I love people with personality, so I really didn't mind. We are planning another stay before winter is over.

Excellent Service I visited Yellowstone and Island Park with my girlfriends. Our expectations were exceeded at this property. The property is in a quiet, beautiful location, our room was clean, and the staff was helpful and so nice. There were other guests causing problems at breakfast. They were teasing the breakfast attendant rudely. What is wrong with people these days? The attendant was both patient and helpful to anyone genuine and well-mannered.

Friendly Staff, Comfortable Lodging My kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. We stayed in a suite which had its own patio with hot tub, which was so nice after a day of hiking. Check in was easy and quick. I was a little nervous about breakfast after reading reviews about the breakfast lady, but there were zero issues and she kept the breakfast area very clean. Not sure what everyone is talking about. My family loves Yellowstone and we'll stay here again.
