Loved it Had an amazing stay over the new year at Posada Real. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. The ocean view from my 4th floor balcony was amazing and perfect for watching sunsets every night. The only issue I had with my room was that there was no wifi and when I asked at the desk I was told there isn’t a connection on that side of the hotel. It wasn’t really a big deal though because I didn’t need it and was happy to unplug. I was able to get a signal in the lobby and at the pool. Sometimes there was hot water in my shower but not always. I really enjoyed the buffet and I would say that I didn’t have high expectations. Lots of choices and I enjoyed that they also offered a freshly cooked grill option with every meal-sometimes breakfast was omelettes and French toast, lunch fish and dinner pork chops. I found most of the items super tasty and loved all the condiments-fresh limes and different salsas. I think the two big highlights for me were the staff and the infinity pool facing the pacific with the swim up bar. The resort is small and intimate which was a nice experience as you got to know the staff and it felt like a big extended family. They are on top of the service here. When we were there, the guests were probably 95% Mexicans, which was really nice instead of being with a bunch of other people from North America. Stellar location Would love to go back.

Low budget hotel We arrived to the hotel at 12 am there was a long check in line no drinks or water was offered , they didnt give us access to food or drinks until 3 pm the front desk staff very un welcome. At the same time 2 buses arrived with people a nightmare. Going to the pool no place to lay down or sit same case in the beach all full they dont have enoughchairs. The only ones they have broken or in poor conditions. We got the all inclusive aldo long lines to get a drink and alcohol quality is very poor, food is also low budget the snack bar only offered hot dogs and hamburgers as well as nachos with horrible tasting cheese The buffette only offers 4 juices wich are not natural and barely 6 dishes wich are pretty bad the first dinner was terrible so we definately decided the next 5 days to go outside the hotel to get a decent dinner . They have a small putting range and they dont even have putters to use the give you pitching wedges and old balls. The rooms are old with poor maintainance there is no music any were no live music at night If you are expecting something enjoyable , good food and service this is not the place

Posado Hotel Ixtapa, Mexico The hotel is under renovation. The noise of Jack hammering and hammers all day long and into the evening is all one heard. Entrances blocked off. This information was not relayed when booking. No one would respond to our concerns over the constant noise. There was no compensation for all the inconveniences. We were booked for 14 days. Restaurant is ok. But not great. There are not enough chairs in the shade. Pool is nice but usually very crowded. Lots of families so quite noisy. And lots of people playing their own music so again very noisy. The rooms are ok but could use a good scrubbing. Mattresses and pillows need to be replaced. Hallways are very noisy at times (usually evening) with children running and playing. The staff in all departments was excellent. They work hard. The grounds are well maintained and are attractive.

Posada Real Trip summary My spouse and I statyed at the Posada Real from March 23 to April 6th. We have mixed feelings leaving this hotel. First night, after what felt like a long day of flying. We were famished, we were able to get a basic hamburger and some chips to snack on until dinner time. Dinner time here begins at 7pm. Thought that was rather late but no big deal. We were the first people at the buffet. The food was very bland and also for being just set out it was also either luke warm or cold. The al carte that night was beef and tortillas. The server for the al carte didn't speak any English, but overall not a major concern. I personally went up to the desert area to see what they had for sweets. I picked out a couple of strawberry cake squares. I brought them to our table and had a bite. while i was chewing the first bite I looked at my plate and there were dozens of little tiny spider like insects crawling all over my food and plate... Needless to say this was a very bad first impression on our overall experience with the food here at the Posada. We booked our trip to the Posada with a full all inclusive plan. The quality of the food here was overall pretty bad. Under seasoned, cold or just badly cooked leftover food. We don't eat seafood, and it sounds like it was a good thing as we had heard there were other travelers that got sick from poor food handling practices. We ate breakfasts mostly from the al carte having mostly omelet's or having the morning cook reheat hash browns on the grill. The food prep there was even pretty sketchy, using one bowl to mix up any and all eggs that were to go on the griddle using the same fork to mix up the eggs dab it in the salt and repeat.. thankfully we didnt get sick from the food. We ended up eating at the restaurants up the road or in Zihua most of the time. The rooms were clean but basic. Hard firm beds (if it is your preference). The maids took their time to make towel figures on the beds. That was a nice little touch. The bathroom in our room was redone but it was starting to show its wear and tear. We booked for a mountain view room but we were surprised to get an ocean view room. So the view was great and was nice to wake up to. Our view from our room afforded us the view to the dolphin tank next door, and we were able to watch the trainers feed the dolphins every morning. Kinda neat... The staff at the front desk were nice and polite and helpful in assisting us in booking reservations and getting our laundry done. Albeit, the laundry service was very expensive. We had no issues with any of the staff, just wished there was a little more English spoken. There was no nightly activities here at all. Maybe due to lack of space available. But that was a little disappointing especially when you can hear all the festivities going on at the hotels next door like the Park Royal, and the Tesoro. But the big question... Would I go back to this hotel should we decide to return to Ixtapa. Probably not. Paying for an all inclusive and not eating there due to poor food handling/storage and serving, that's a pretty big deal to me. We ended up spending a lot more money then intended on eating out every night then anticipated. I've been to the Posada Real in San Jose del Cabo and it was a MUCH better experience overall then here. The food there was good, fresh and properly handled. Plus there was some type of entertainment.
