Nice, very clean and friendly. Second stay in the past month, so clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff is great and this is such a nice find conveniently located close to the surgery center. Both stays have been excellent, this has to be local ownership. This hotel just has that “real” clean not powdered clean smell.

Terrible experience here and do not recommend staying! Let me start by saying that I've stayed at many Holiday Inn Express, but this by far was my worst experience. I recently went to a graduation that was at 8 pm causing me to arrive to my hotel just before 11 pm. Upon arrival the night staff was nice. Breakfast was scheduled to end at 9:30 am, but when my family and I came down at 9:00 am the breakfast area was COMPLETELY EMPTY. I wish I was exaggerating, but I'm not as there were no muffins, bagels, eggs, and even no coffee. I then went to the front desk and ask if breakfast was still being served and she stated it should be since it was early. She then went and talked to the lady making breakfast, but she had an attitude and didn't want to make more. By this time another 3 - 4 families/groups staying at the hotel came down and all was upset about this as well. So by the time she brought a few more eggs and biscuits out, they were all hard and overcooked. Multiple people complained and the woman was rude stating that the only thing left she could really do is bake more eggs and sausage due to what time it was by now. So I had to go get my family Chic-fila and upon returning, we tried to request a late checkout so that we could have time to eat in the room and leave, but was told that the hotel had reach its max number of late checkouts for the day and they could only allow us to stay an extra 5 minutes pass 11. We ended up checking out and eating our breakfast in the lobby area afterwards. Also, due to the breakfast issue we occurred I was told that the manager was sent an email for this issue and will contact me on this issue, but 4 days later I have still not been contacted. I definitely do not recommend staying here and will be planning to stay at the La Quinta Inn located across the street upon my next visit instead.

Smelly Room We visited Jacksonville, Florida and stayed one night. Upon entering the room it smelled like smoke and we are not smokers. Other than that, the hotel is average. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly.

Very restrictive with Covid restrictions in June 2021 We stayed here in the middle of June 2021. While the rest of the world is lightning up on Covid restrictions this HIE was the most restrictive hotel we have stayed at through this entire time. The pool was closed because of Covid while most other hotels have had their pools open the entire time. There is usually so much chlorine in pools that it would kill Covid anyway. Choice hotels already have their breakfast buffet back to normal while this HIE location only had eggs and sausage that had to be served to you. Trying to get extra towels for our room was almost impossible because the maids were not allowed to give us any towels with Covid restrictions as the excuse . Service has gone out the door and you use Covid as an excuse! If you have a large vehicles with a trailer the only parking is on the side of highway. No room in the parking lot. I barely got my pickup & trailer in and out of the lot to unload. The state of Texas has lifted all restrictions and you want to keep your hotel on lock down you can do it without my business. I’ll spend my money somewhere where I can actually enjoy the facilities. If I’m going to pay over $100 a night I want service and enjoy what I’m paying for. I think I will stay at another chain until HIE decides to get back to normal.
