Warm & inviting I stayed at this Inn back in June with a group tour but as a solo traveler. I felt safe in my room which is import and as a solo traveler. I only stayed there for one night but honestly wish it could have been longer. The Inn was so warm and inviting. The bar/dining area was so homey. The staff was kind and helpful, and the room made me feel like I was back in my childhood home. I stayed on the first floor and had a beautiful deck looking out at the mountains. The Inn offers a pool, hot tub and an areas where we made s’mores. The views are spectacular and I would highly recommend South Thompson Inn you will not be sorry.

Gorgeous but dilapidated While the location is gorgeous, and the staff helpful, I felt misled by other reviews. This is not a 4 star property - I believe it was built 30 years ago and never updated. There isn't a door on the toilet area, there is only one light for the entire bathroom, meaning you wake up others when you turn it on at night. No screen on sliding door, so you don't want to leave it open. hot water kettle never boiled the water. breakfast is a bag of packaged food. Hot tub wasn't hot. No way to turn off ac/fan unless you unplug it.

Good room Room spacious with a good view over the river. Evening meal good. I chose Kamloops trout - delicious. My wife a light bite of nachos with cheese that turned out to be huge only demerit is that breakfast is a grab bag - they could and should do better.

Good place in Kamloops Very nice place in Kamloops! :) The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. We had a nice view of the mountains. The staff was very friendly. We had a dinner and it was delicious. For us the grab and go breakfast was perfect. A mini fridge in the room would have been nice. The air condition was a bit loud. The bathroom was a little bit outdated.

Beware criminals target this hotel. We stopped at the South Thompson Hotel for one night on our road trip from Whistler to Banff. On the face of it the hotel is very pretty next to the river with authentic wooden floorboards. At night you realise the hotel is also next to a noisy highway and railway line. The walls between rooms are thin and the floorboards & bathrooms make a lot of noise. The following morning we were sad to discover that our rental car had been vandalised in the hotel car park overnight and luggage had been stolen. While crime happens everywhere and we should have been a bit more street smart, the response by the hotel has led to this poor review. The reception staff gave no form of apology or discount off our stay. The groundskeeper was kind and offered to provide a tarpaulin for our window. He explained that it happens regularly at the hotel which makes me believe it was not an isolated incident. The incident has significantly impacted us in both time and money, and sadly tarnished our view of Canada.
