Friendly and comfortable. The Double Tree in Kamloops was our first overnight stop after a day on the Rocky Mountaineer. The employees were welcoming, offered us bottled water and directions to the local grocery store. When we returned they provided silverware for the meal we brought back. There was a cozy sitting area in the lobby to relax and speak to others from the train.

Nice hotel, mind-blowing chef I stayed at the Double Tree for one night with a friend when on the Rocky Mountaineer trip from Vancouver to Banff. Had a comfortable stay there. It's a nice hotel. What made our time really worthwhile, though, was the wonderful restaurant. It has a chef there who cooks the most wonderful Indian food. Now, I love Indian food and consider myself quite the connoisseur. I would have given my right arm to sample more of this chef's cooking but, alas, I was only able to try his delights for one meal. I will be dreaming of his cooking for years to come. It blew my mind! If you will be staying in Kamloops, do yourself a favour and have some indian food at the Double Tree's restaurant. It really is something else. (PS: The restaurant offers more than just Indian food.)

Give it a chance with new Management Good: Our check-in was smooth. Diamond members get free parking and breakfast but no room upgrade as such. The rooms have been updated so they look and feel new. Bad: The restaurant called Harvest by Nadini is under staffed and outsourced to a 3rd party. So expect long delays. Breakfast took over 1 hour to be served! It was really bad. And the parking lots are super tight so our large SUV struggled. Overall we were presently surprised and had a good stay!

Comfortable overnight stay We stayed overnight on our way through on the rocky mountineer and found the accommodation excellent. The beds were comfortable with nice linens and the room was clean. The Staff on front desk were helpful. Appearance of hotel is pleasant.

Checkin to room under maintenance Checked into room that had a maintenance person doing work. He let us into room without ID verification. Told front desk but they dismissed it as it was a pre arrival check which was BS as they gentleman had all of his tools everywhere. Hhonors gold recognition and breakfast was good. Underground parking is in separate building and digital key didn’t work.
