Not bad The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. My room was clean and smelled fresh. The location is in walking distance to some restaurants and a gas station with snacks and coffee. My only complaint, which isn't any fault of the hotel, is that there were a decent number of vagrants in the area.

I’ve heard that you get what you pay for.. We stayed here for a night after catching a Kannapolis Cannonballers game rather than driving the 100 miles back home late at night. We picked the Comfort Inn to save a few bucks over some of the other local chain options, and were sorry we did. The hotel was noticeably “worn” and *ahem* less than sparkling. The thermostat had been turned up so that we walked into an 80-degree room; it took almost an hour to get it down to a comfortable temperature. The TV was a (these days) minuscule 28” or 32”, and there were a shortage of plug and charger options. The toilet in the bathroom was low to the floor and anything but the lowest settings on the tub/shower faucet handle brought very hot water. Our son and grandson also had a room that night in the hotel and saw a couple of cockroaches. Happily, I found the bed very comfortable, although my wife found it too hard. Next time I attend a minor league game in Kannapolis I’ll be spending the extra 30 bucks… _

Below expectations This place is old and very poorly renovated. The beds creek. The elevator was beat up, looked like a freight elevator. The stopper in the sink wouldn't open. Has to reach under and open by hand. There was a whole in the wall by the tub and one around the shower head. The shower head pressure was so strong it felt like needles. NO USB PORTS. Aged furnishings and fixtures. Small TV. The breakfast was above average. Only reason I gave it 3 stars.

Good value Solid 4 star. Nothing exceptional but nothing to downgrade either. Friendly staff, clean room. Exterior could use some TLC. Would stay here again. Good value for the cost . Breakfast just ok with limited choices. To get to 200 characters for this review I wrote the last sentence.

A decent choice but some things you might want to take note of.... Overall, this was a decent stay. If you are looking for a good, clean place to call your homebase while you travel about to do some fun activities in the area and beyond, this is probably a decent choice for you. The location, as others have mentioned, is very convenient, off the interstate, and has some shopping and restaurant choices around it. We received a warm, friendly greeting and great customer service at the front desk throughout the stay. We arrived about an hour or so before check-in and were offered to check-in early and pay $25 to do so. The lobby area and breakfast area are nice but kind of small and tight. The website pics make it look much larger than it is. Not a big deal for us, but others might like the idea of going down to hang in the lobby to relax. There is an ice machine on the first floor and the third floor. There are 4 floors to the hotel and from what we could tell, only one elevator which made for a bit of a wait at times but was not a deal breaker. We stayed on the top floor away from the elevator. The room was clean as were the beds, the sheets, etc. I always make a point to pull back all the sheets and do a thorough inspection of the sheets and mattresses before I decide to sleep in one and the beds and sheets here were in great order. Speaking of the beds and I think important to note for some: if you have mobility issues, the beds (as some others have noted) are very high! We are middle-aged and in fairly decent shape and had an issue getting in and out of the beds. I felt like I actually had to climb up and then remember in the middle of the night if I had to get up that it was a bit of a drop back down. There is also a bad design flaw on the base with sharp bars sticking out of the sides and if you step the wrong way on or off the bed, you are going to be dinged and stabbed by these things. Someone needs to take note of this. Maybe they could put some kind of rubber bumper on them to alleviate the issue. If you go there, you'll see what I mean. If you have a lot of electronics you are planning to use/charge (phone, laptop, CPAP machine, etc), then you will run into some issues here. The only outlets we noticed were via the ones on the base of the lamps and some of our chargers were too small for the outlets (which I think are pretty basic), they were too loose to hold a charge without having to keep finagling to keep them plugged in. The bathroom area is small and divided into a sink and mirror area and a separate toilet/shower/tub area. The toilet/shower room was very tight and old and outdated with signs of major wear and tear and patchwork but the shower worked great, there was great water pressure and the water was nice and hot if you are into nice hot showers ;-) The AC worked great on a couple of very hot NC days! They had a good variety of TV channels and the TV worked great. The furniture (office chair at the desk area) and couch have seen better days. They were pretty worn out but served their purpose. Parking was easy and they had a very nice pool area. If we were to return to the area, I would consider staying here again if it was a trip where I would not be in the hotel/room that often and only needed a good place to sleep, hold my belongings, shower and change. If I am looking for a place to relax, unwind and spend more time on the property, I'm probably going to look for another option but that's just me.
