Stay away Absolutely horrible experience. When we arrived, we realized they were laying new asphalt for their parking lot. We didn’t think it’d be a big deal even though the fumes were strong. I went to check in and noticed there was a sign saying you had to move your vehicle by 8am the next morning. Since they were just finishing their work when we pulled in, we assumed by the time we got back to the room, that side would have been opened to park on. In addition, when I checked in, my amount said something different than what I booked online but I was in a hurry and I thought maybe there was a deposit on it. We went to a Royals game that evening and didn’t get back to the hotel until late. Knowing they had the asphalt laying, they still decided to book out the entire hotel so there was nowhere to park. The front desk representative spoke so little English, she couldn’t comprehend my statements. She pointed and said we could park in the lot where a gaming store was. I said if they tow our vehicle, you are responsible. She did not understand. We had things we needed from the vehicle as well as my son is a Type 1 Diabetic. We had to go to another lot to get his supplies at 1am. After we went bed, we heard a crash. The metal ring around the light in the bathroom fell and hit the floor. I went to check out in the morning and explain my frustration about the parking situation and not being able to explain due to a language barrier, then explain about the light situation. The lady in charge was standing there saying to other workers she was going to call a tow truck on those who had not moved their vehicles. Keep in mind, those people could not move them the night before. In addition to this, my rate was $98 and with tax, $116. I look at my receipt and the total was $155. They changed my rate. The worst part is when they do this, it also changes on your online reservation so I had no proof. Always screenshot your rate I learned. They apologized for the parking, the person in charge asked if the people above us were stomping, as if that mattered, but I said no they weren’t. They adjusted the rate back down and gave 15% off but I do not feel that was even remotely fair after all of the issues. I called IHG this morning to file a formal complaint. And this rep was able to confirm they changed my rate. How scary is it that they can just do that at any time. This is a super shady operation and I would stay as far away as possible. I hope IHG takes firm action against them.

Comfortable and welcoming After a reservation not being honored at a nearby hotel, I was able to secure a room here. The front desk experience was 100% more welcoming than the previous even though I had to book here very quickly. The front desk was very happy and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I plan to come back to the area for a more leisurely stay next year. I will seek out this hotel first for lodging when I return.

Should have just kept going... Travelling across the county, just stopped for the night without a reservation. This is the first hotel I ever stopped at that would not give me a Military Discount at the Front Desk. A fairly unfriendly and un-talkative Front Desk person told me I had to reserve online for any discounts. After check-in, I went to the guest laundry (having been on the road for a week, I was out of clothes), Out of Order... asked the Front Desk if there was anyplace to do laundry, and got a terse "Don't Know" The room was very damp, the door didn't close correctly (Frame bent... fairly new construction for that kind of issue) Tried to put valuables in the safe before going to dinner, Safe was locked with someone else's code. Again, back to the Front Desk to tell them about it and got a "Do you really need it?" Went to dinner, no parking in front so went around back, parked near read door and my key would not open the back door... REALLY!!! So on the way out the next morning, I told the Front Desk staff about all the issue and all I got was an "I'm Sorry, would you like your receipt?" No notes written down about issues, just a "We got your money, See Ya!"

Just okay This hotel is just okay. Needs renovations. Ceilings are cracked, baseboards terrible, shower has no water pressure, beds are uncomfortable and sheets are very hot. Wallpaper is coming off, built up dust on ceiling and vents. Tried to charge us $5 for a popsicle at the front desk…for frozen flavored water! Elevators shook so bad. Staff was friendly but will not be my future hotel of choice at The Legends.
