Blue Flamingo Key West

Very nice! Very nice and comfortable. Large room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Very clean. We got an ocean view room which was very nice. We noticed somebody complained about noise from the highway, but we did not hear anything. There is a Starbucks downstairs, but no other restaurants at walking distance. They have a pool area where you can have breakfast, but we did not use it. They do have shuttle to Mallory Square which is about 3 miles away.

Good hotel This was a nice hotel, beautiful pool area, punctual shuttle service, and great gym. The room stewards did not do a good job. They where slow, late, and one day a no show. I would stay here again. Location is too far to walk to downtown.

Quirky weird place. The "Ocean View" is across the street from a highway, so it was very, very noisy. When we first got to the hotel we checked in to our room, and looked at each other and said "no way, not going to work". It was incredibly noisy due to the highway. This is an old motel walk-up style hotel that has been renovated, and I did not like that anyone walking along could see right in to our room. We were moved to the backside of the hotel overlooking the pool, and it was much quieter. There is a lack of food in the area, we checked in around 8pm and were told they had food next door, which consisted of a food truck (and it was raining due to the season). We were tired and wanted to sit and relax and eat some dinner. We ended up ordering pizza. The pool was nice but they blasted music all day so an afternoon nap was not happening. The drinks at the pool were good and reasonably priced. Every single member of staff that we interacted with was very nice. It is far from the main area of Key West, but they offer a shuttle. It is an easy little city to navigate so don't be afraid to take your own vehicle downtown. I wouldn't stay at this place again, I was pretty disappointed.

Nice Hotel Lacking hospitality details Arrived to a nice check in. We were given an upgrade to ocean view room. Much appreciated. We were given 2 drink coupons that we tried to use for our brunch getting the check at about 11:15am. They were not acceped. We were told they had to be used at "the other bar".... ok.. but we did not see another bar... later that evening we thought we would have a drink. We went to the front desk and asked about the coupon since we did not see "another bar" at the hotel. Well... there isn't one! The "other bar" is at the "other hotel" next door... lol after explaining we tried to use the coupons in the morning we were told, oh you can't use them for breakfast drinks! Lol... you have to wait until 11am when lunch is open... really??!! We had 2 bloody Mary's... what an obsurd excuse not to honor the coupons and I was told I would have to "deal with it" at checkout. On another note, we had run out of toilet paper becaise they failed to put a backup roll. After our first night we returned to our room and housekeeping did not restock any towels, floor mats, wash cloths, or hand towels... so we had one bath towel left. And... they did not restock the coffee supplies... too bad... we paid an extreme premium for the weekend due to Fantasy Fest... They have a nice pool. No spa. Nice gym and is a clean and newly renovated property. Breakfast/brunch has a limited menu and simple food at average to higher priced and was OK in a pinch. However, given my experience, I'm afraid I cannot give my full endorsement to this property.

Far from everything but a good value The hotel was clean, stylish, recently renovated, and the staff was friendly. Nice pool area with comfortable seating. Its 3 miles from downtown which is doable by bicycle (available for rent $15/day) if you can manage 1 steep hill over palm causeway. There is a shuttle to Mallory square every hour or so (be on time, they don't play!) until 11pm for the less energetic. This is great because there is no uber on key west and a taxi ran us $15 each way. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay that is still clean and comfortable, this is it. It would be good for families because there's no craziness like you might see downtown.
