Stay here, you won’t be disappointed If you’re looking for a comfortable, well located hotel with unbelievably friendly staff, look no further than this hotel. We arrived with a general plan of what we wanted to do in the area. And with the utmost in anticipatory hospitality, Rob was super knowledgeable and quick to recommend restaurants to go to (and stay away from), offer suggestions for modifying our itinerary, like taking Iron Mountain Road and 16a, and SOOO many other things. Julie was also extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable when it came time to run ideas past her for experiencing as much as we could in our 5 day stay in the area. This hotel is super well maintained, cleaned, and above all, EVERYONE there understands HOSPITALITY. Little touches like Lemon water readily available. Cool lobby that defines where you are (very South Dakota) themed. Highly, highly recommended.

BEWARE! DISCRIMINATION!!! If you are of a different ethnicity or color and do not want to be treated "LESS THAN" the other person, then STAY AWAY from this hotel!!! The following is our experience. My husband, my sister and I are frequent travelers. We stayed in this hotel last week for 6 nights because of its location. We are Asian and I have South American features. Since the hotel does NOT have housekeeping unless by request, we requested for it twice. The first time got done but the second time "ROB" was at the front desk. We could immediately tell we were not welcome. He had no greeting for us and could not even look straight at us as if we were bothering him in front of his computer. Long story short, we thought the request was in order. The following night after being out and about the whole day, to our surprise, the room was NOT house-kept. We called front desk. There was another guy who apologized and was kind enough to bring us towels and empty our trash. He told us it will be noted and that it will be done the following day. We returned the following night only to find out that housekeeping AGAIN did NOT happen. My husband called front desk to ask why and ROB answered. He told my husband to just come down and get what we needed. So my sister and I went to the front desk. I went straight to ROB seeing there was NOBODY in front of him. Without hesitation, he immediately told me to "STEP ASIDE" for according to him he was with a customer. Seeing NOBODY there, I told him that I am a customer and mentioned my Room Number. AGAIN, he told me to "STEP ASIDE". When I insisted that I am also a customer, he started telling me that I was rude even giving me the "STOP" hand gesture in front of my face more than once as I started asking him if that is how he treats his customers. He then continued telling me how rude I was and that everybody there will say the same as he PROCEEDED entertaining another guest checking in. I STOOD MY GROUND. He finally gave up and ANGRILY asked how many towels I needed, bending underneath the counter in front of him to get them. At that point, I HAD ENOUGH. So he knew I was ONLY there for towels even without me telling him and he could NOT give them to me quickly enough because...? And, he NEVER mentioned the reason why we did NOT get housekeeping in the first place. So I said "Never mind" and my sister and I left. The next morning was our check out day and we were greeted kindly this time by JULIE. We told her what happened and she quickly apologized on behalf of the hotel and gave me additional points in my CHOICE account. We left the hotel with a VERY BAD experience that ruined our vacation. I am writing this review to warn others. My sister, my husband and I all agreed. We will NOT be SILENCED and BULLIED. If you are of a different ethnicity or color, STAY AWAY from THIS HOTEL!!!

Wonderful Stay What a wonderful 3 night stay we enjoyed at this hotel. Front Desk staff are all great, helpful and friendly. We had a first floor room and the only negative I have is the sound proofing between 1st and 2nd floors - whomever was in the room above us loved to jump up and down consistently the first night making loud thudding sounds. We didn't report it at all - we just noticed how loud it was. This hotel is so very clean, well appointed. The breakfast area is rather small, but the staff does an amazing job of cleaning and restocking during the breakfast hours. The breakfast is very good with a good variety. Our room was a king suite so we had plenty of space to relax in. It was all very clean, and comfortable. This hotel is easy walking distance to the downtown Keystone stores and restaurants. And just a short 7 mile drive to Mount Rushmore. If we are ever in the area again this will be our hotel of choice.

Inviting hotel minutes from Mount Rushmore Great! This was one of the only hotels open in Keystone in November. We arrived late and the inn looks bright and lovely at night. Hot tub and pool, hot coffee in the lobby, breakfast included, and a cool lobby. Local photos and Wild West paintings all over. Clean! Definitely recommend for a comfortable stay.

Comfortable and convenient This hotel offers comfortable rooms in a great location. We stayed here while visiting the Black Hills area. Our room was clean and large and had a view of the tree covered hillside behind the hotel. The staff were efficient and friendly. There was plenty of variety at breakfast and we enjoyed the mountain themed decor. The town is very touristy with restaurants, souvenir shops, and paid attractions.
