WONDERFUL !!! Comfort Suites staff certainly helped me "make the best of a bad situation!" when sudden automotive issues led to unexpected extended stay in Kilgore. Everyone at front desk was friendly, efficient, helpful. Special thanks to Jill, Rodrigo, and Amy. Beautifully manicured grounds. Automatic front doors made transporting overloaded luggage cart so much easier. Lovely front lobby with lots of gathering area for guests including outside tables. Room was very clean & comfortable. Kudos to housekeeping! Spotless bathroom. Tub literally sparkled and shower tile work was beautiful. Generous supply of bright white towels. Fridge/micro/in-room coffee. Free wifi w/ample signal. Slept well on super comfortable bed wi/nice linens and lots of fat, fluffy pillows. Well tended continental breakfast. Business area & exercise room. Pool was closed but appeared to be under renovation and frankly a chlorinated swim or hot tub soak isn't high on my list of priorities. The ONLY issue I had was being awakened by stomping footsteps overhead and conversation in the next room but that was easily resolved with foam earplugs. Highly recommend and would DEFINITELY stay here again :-)

Mildew Manor I read this hotel's reviews before traveling but in hindsight, should have paid attention to the fact that most of them are old. We stayed during the Shakespeare Festival 2022 and the hotel was the worst part of our stay. It was clean so I can't fault housekeeping, and the bed was comfortable -- that's good but all I can say that's good. The folks at the desk did their job but weren't very friendly, but that's OK -- in our experience, Kilgore isn't especially outgoing. But, like so many places, it seemed understaffed -- we often couldn't find someone, like to ask about breakfast issues or where to get ice (there is only one working ice machine, apparently, and it's on the first floor). There is some problem with the pool and apparently a leak through the property -- the downstairs conference room had a fan running to dry it out. Our first room (on 3rd floor) smelled strongly of mildew, especially in the bathroom (nearest the hall) and the door wouldn't close. We changed rooms and noticed that in the hall by our original room and the next, the wainscoting was removed and covered with black plastic -- this was on the side above the pool. Our new room was on the 4th floor, across the hall, and smelled less bad but did still smell. My husband had allergies the whole time, which cleared up as soon as we left, which indicates there was probably a mold problem. The room air conditioners do little to remove humidity, and Kilgore is HUMID. It was a bit better if we cracked open the window (which had no screen) to bring in more ventilation from the near-100-degree day outside. I thought maybe it was because the area is so humid, but everywhere indoors elsewhere in town was much more comfortable (restaurants, theater, museums, stores). The fixtures throughout are worn -- the tiles in the bathroom were cracked all across the floor, there were stains on the couch and pink stains (mold?) on the wallpaper in the bathroom. The towels are so small, at first I thought I was holding the bathmat, and the set of towels didn't match. The sink and tub had no drain covers, just holes. No niceties like tissue (there was a holder for the tissue box but no tissue box) or lotion. I asked for an extra bar of soap so we could have one in the shower and had to give my room number -- hoping that doesn't show up on the bill. When we turned on the bathroom light, the fluorescent fixture flickered for 5 minutes before settling down. The TV was small (maybe 24"-30"?) and not HD, and there is no streaming available (at other hotels recently I've been able to sign into my Netflix, for instance) although there is cable. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but did go down for beverages in the mornings. The coffee was not great. On day 1, I grabbed a cup of orange juice too and brought it up to our room. I took one sip and that was that. It was thin yet extremely pulpy, with not really any taste, and worst of all it was warm! A food safety hazard, not to mention gross. Day 2 my husband went down to get coffee and a cup of tea, or hot water, for me. There were tea bags and a vacuum dispenser marked "Hot Water," but the water in it was cold. He waited a few minutes but could not find anyone to ask about the hot water, so we wound up heating some in our in-room coffee maker. I really felt like I was staying at a Super 8 or something, not at a hotel worth the $137 a night we paid. I nicknamed it "Discomfort Suites" and my husband called it "Mildew Manor." We probably should have tried to switch hotels but didn't want to pay more. I don't think I've stayed at a Comfort Suites before, and I don't know if this is just an issue of the hotel franchise owner not taking care of this property, but I'm unlikely to choose this chain again.

Clean, comfortable Hotel was clean as always. Hotel staff is always helpful and greets you with a smile. Grab to go breakfast had a bunch of options to choose from. Pool was closed for renovations, but that didn’t bother me. Would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel to stay at. They have brand new mattresses as well!

Very Nice Stay We stayed here during a bad weather storm and I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was great. Plenty of room for our 6 year old to run around and not be worried about the tornado warning we were under. We slept so good. The bed was so comfortable and the room was so well insulated on the 3rd floor that we didn't hear much of the storm. Check in went well. I am bad with names but the New Jersey front desk clerk was very attentive and a fun sense of humor. We would definitely stay here again.
