Simply wonderful! We stayed here for 5 nights. Everything about this hotel was just perfect for our family trip. Large clean room, the beds were very comfortable, the staff is amazing, the location was great (just a few blocks to the beach), breakfast and valet parking is included, all for a fair price. The restaurant makes the hotel feel pretty busy in the evenings but that adds to the experience in a good way. Our room was quiet and we were all able to get a good nights rest. The beach toys, towels and chairs they provide were a nice surprise that made time at the beach more fun. Special shout out and thank you to Kendra, Spencer and Charles. They were so so helpful, treated us like family, we were sad to leave! Go ahead and book this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

Decent Stay Booked the 2 double queen beds. Your stay comes with a full hot breakfast. I will say only one minor complaint would have to be the noise. There seems to be construction or some type of work being done which woke up me and the family. Also since it is close to main shopping and dining area of La Jolla it did get a bit noisy at night. Other than that the room was clean and beds were comfy. Parking is extra I believe $30 a night and valet only.

La Jolla Wine and Art Festival Perfect location to walk to everything in La Jolla. Shops, beaches, museum, restaurants. Clean hotel, super friendly staff and a perfect Continental breakfast+ (included) to start the day. Came in to visit the La Jolla wine and at festival and this was the perfect place to stay. Great visit!

Recommend Empress Hotel Empress Hotel was excellent. Check in with Stephanie was easy and the chocolate chip cookie was a nice touch. The hotel and rooms are clean, quiet during our stay, and very comfortable beds. Breakfast included was a mix of hot eggs, potatoes, buscuits & gravy, make your own waffle to pastries, yogurt or cereal. Within walking distance to the main street. Good hotel & recommend it.

Customer service Stephanie at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I haven’t seen this level of customer service in a long time. This woman is the epitome of ‘Customer First’. The only disappointment is that there isn’t a pool… The only other recommendation would be to have the bathroom door open into the hallway not open into the bedroom. Other than that, we enjoyed a very nice stay. Thanks!
