La Jolla Cove Suites

Nice view but loud wedding parties at night. Wedding receptions next to our rooms was very loud and hard to sleep. We loved the view and location but was hard to get some good sleep. Also hard to get to the pool and hot tub. Had to walk around the outside of the hotel and climb several flight of stairs. Dark with hardly any lights at night.

Bring your hard hat The only good thing about this hotel is the courtesy of the front desk staff. We had our wedding here and multiple people staying at the hotel. It took MONTHS to get a manager to reach out to us regardless of how much we reached out and visited the hotel and when she did, she emailed us which we explicitly stated we wanted a phone call as we wanted to get everything squared away and they were not easy to get ahold of. We booked months ago before the construction overtook the whole hotel with no heads up our bed and room would be shaking, jack hammers 2 feet from our door started at 645 AM and we had to yell to hear each other in our own room. They also increased the parking charge from 27$ to 45$ a night, agreed to honor their original price only because I had it in writing however, could not do anything at checkout and instead double charged us and said we had to email their team for review even though they were the ones that wrongly double charged us and at the wrong rate. Cleaning ladies were rude and the floors were filthy, we couldn’t walk around our room without shoes as the ground was covered in dirt probably from construction, one of the towels provided was an actual rag, torn and clearly used for cleaning then folded and rolled as a towel for us to use. We do not recommend. The view is pretty but not worth the headache

Gross discovery and unacceptable experience La Jolla cove While this location is idyllic and the view from the corner penthouse suite is undeniably gorgeous, two other completely avoidable factors cause my one star rating. First thing that detracted from my experience is in the cleanliness.category. Looking at a used q tip colored amber with someone else’s earwax is not only just gross, but then made me question the actual cleaning of places where there wasn’t a marker as obvious as this one. The next item was the wall shaking, ear shattering noise from their Construction. I should point out that I booked this expensive view room so that I could have an enjoyable view while I took work calls all morning before flying home. I couldn’t.even hear myself think much less hear the people I was having calls with. This went on for hours. Manager was completely unapologetic about the fact that this was not disclosed before booking the room, and offered no apology or compensation. Not a cup of coffee or bottle of water much less a discount on what became an unusable space and an aggravating morning in paradise. They tried to claim that the note on website saying renovations impacted parking (only valet available) was their disclosure. For me, having the parking garage impacted is very different from deafening sound inside my room. While the location is super tempting there are other properties nearby who probably have better policies for customer satisfaction. Hopefully better cleaning rigor and standards as well. Try the Beach and Tennis club instead.

Horrible one night experience I booked room directly on their website and looking at the picture of the building on the website. Once I got the keys my expectation shattered, it took me 30 to 45 minutes where the room is. I had to walk at least 50 to 75 steps get to the room. Imagine with bags and kids going steps up and down. Room is rusty old apartment. On top of all this there is construction going in this apartments constant sounds from 7 AM throughout the day. We have to walk thru very unsafe construction environment with bags and kids. I had very horrible experience last day of my spring vacation. I never experienced so much noise anywhere in the hotel rooms. Right before this hotel I stayed in LA area Santa Monica blvd right next to freeway, It's very noisy when get out of hotel, once inside hotel I hear nothing.

Don’t trust the photos First all of… this website is inaccurate because THERE IS NO GYM. The location near La Jolla Cove is the only reason this place gets any stars from me. Everything else about the stay was pretty disappointing. First, the fridge in our room didn’t work, which is a basic amenity you expect to function. We were also given a connected room that we never requested, and unfortunately the noise carried straight through. We could hear a crying baby clearly, and overall the walls in this hotel are very thin so you hear pretty much everything around you. What made it worse was that there was a wedding happening above our floor and we were never warned about it. The music and activity were loud and lasted a while, which really ruined the peaceful vacation we were hoping for. There was also construction going on, which added even more noise during the stay. The pool area was also disappointing and honestly felt misleading compared to the photos online. It did not look nearly as nice in person. When we brought up concerns, the front desk wasn’t very accommodating, which was frustrating considering how expensive the stay was. Overall, this place is overpriced for what it offers. The location is great, but the hotel itself desperately needs upgrades and better management of guest expectations. There are many other hotels in the area that likely provide a much better experience.
