Homewood Suites by Hilton Lafayette, LA

Unclean bathroom, trash everywhere, and pets in breakfast area. I have never been so disappointed in Hilton! The best thing about the stay was David, he was very helpful and friendly at check in. Mold in shower - after a 5 hour drive we arrived to our room and the shower had mold around the tub and all the bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel was empty. We had to go out and purchase cleaning items and buy the necessities, luckily the Walgreens in the corner was still open. Bathroom unclean - in addition to the mold and the empty bottles there was hair everywhere, I am convinced the bathroom had not been cleaned between guests. Housekeeping Services/no clean towels - we understand the every other day service however, we felt like we were begging for clean towels. We are a family of 5 and when asked for towels we were given 2 towels. I had to go back and ask for more each day. Our room was cleaned once between Monday and Friday and nothing was refilled. Trash Everywhere - there was trash everywhere, by the elevators, in the hallways, and near the vending machines. Without housekeeping guests were leaving trash stacked up everywhere and it stayed for days. Pets in breakfast area despite the policy- a young lady brought her dog to breakfast and the front desk staff, breakfast attendant, and a member of housekeeping walked right past her and did not say a word. She held her dog while fixing her food, she consistently reached into serving trays and came in contact with the food all with the dogs mouth and nose within inches of the food and drinks. I am not sure what is going on at this location but it is not Hilton quality! Some things need to be addressed, staff need to be trained, and a solution need to be provided for the trash. With all the other options in the area I would not recommend this location.

Quiet, convenient, and comfortable It appears the property is undergoing an update and renovation, but this did not affect my stay adversely in any way. The facilities and the room were clean and in overall very good or new condition. It was quiet, convenient, and comfortable.

Excellent place Spent 1 night with my young daughter for her swim meet. Very clean hotel, we had no issues and would gladly return! The hotel has nice esthetics, very clean, the rooms very spacious. The breakfast bar had a great variety and everything tasted delicious. The staff was very friendly and efficient!

No excuse! Got here at 4:15! Check in is four! Still waiting at 5:30! Won’t even mention compensation. Horrible! No excuse! People are hanging out just begging to get to their rooms! It’s completely booked! Have known for days that they were booked this weekend and didn’t even bring in extra help to clean!!!

Terrible experience This hotel is the worst. Front desk person was rude and incompetent when we checked in. Entire suite was very, very dirty. Floors were filthy, nothing had been dusted in a long time, furniture and carpet were worn out, stained and ugly. One closet had no carpet at all. The floor was bare concrete, and the carpet tacks were fully exposed. I almost stepped on them - which would have necessitated attention from a doctor, no doubt. The kitchen had few utensils, no supplies, and all of the items in drawers and cabinets were dirty. Dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. When my husband plugged in the toaster and tried to make toast, it set off the smoke alarm. The alarm went off right away, before the bread was even warm. The linens were old and shabby. No privacy curtains in the bedrooms. We reported these problems, asked for help to fix them, and never got a single response. The desk staff just stares at you, does not apologize, does not respond at all. We stayed for 8 nights in a suite that I cleaned myself as best I could in order to tolerate it. I am a Hilton Honors member, and this is by far the worst Hilton property that I have ever experienced. Do not stay here.
