Hidden Lakeside Gem with its own Sandy Beach & Pet Friendly Small resort with quaint kitchenette rooms or suites, fully tiled in solid travertine. Some families book the whole resort on occasion. Numerous repeat quests, couples & families. Each room faces a lakeside view, a thick well groomed St Augustine carpet lawn and a small private beach and pier/wooden dock. It's not Club Med but it could be Club Meditate. It's a super value hosted by a fine couple. Stranded here for 2.5 months while waiting for my new home to be completed, my labrador retriever pupster and I had a most pleasant stay.

13 June 24 in Lake Placid, Fl Basic room with no frills. The bed was comfortable and the ac was adequate. There are no ice trays in the refrigerator and I did not see an ice machine at the hotel. Perhaps one can get ice in the office. Bring your own hand soap. The coffee maker was molded inside from the lack of cleaning out the filter from an earlier user. We enjoyed the nice views over Grassy Lake and the proximity to Archbold Biological Reserve. You are on your own for breakfast. A Winn-Dixie is about 2 miles away and Tabby’s excellent restaurant is about 4 miles north. For almost $200 a night at Grassy Lake we will stay at some other place in Lake Placid in the future. Incidentally, all 12 rooms face the lake. Don’t reserve a room with an additional charge for a lake-view.

Basic Accommodation The grounds & exterior of this lakefront hotel are well maintained and every room has a lovely lakeview. The room was a mixture of new and old. Furniture was a bit tired but the bed was comfortable. The efficiency kitchen was minimally equipped. Our biggest concern was that the door had no security chain, deadbolt or peephole.

A gem in the area!! With a sunrise in your window, shining over your private patio, while bouncing off a fresh water lake...this stay was a big 'Ahhĥhĥ!' Room 8 has a fabulous, huge tub!! Clean tile throughout and plenty of hot water! ADA complient toilets, wide pedestal sink and it is spacious. Bring toiletries, the wall dispenser was empty. Towel and face clothes need to be upgraded to match the luxury of the bath. Beds were comfortable, pillows were king and fluffy! This room is a kitchenette set up and nicely appointed except coffee- one bag of Maxwell house. A good Columbian grind or Kuerig would fit the more upscale goal new managers are setting. Pets were welcomed with a fee. We were told 20.00 on the phone. We added extra nights because the room and area were such a pleasant surprise! So we will update our review after check out. Owners were lovely. Dock on lake, patio furniture, quiet..Ahhhh! We needed the rest and comfort.

What a pleasant place to stay This inn was our first stop on our road trip through Florida. It was a great find. All of the rooms are on the street level, so you don't have to deal with any stairs. And you drive right up to your room, so you don't have to carry your bags but a few feet. The rooms are set up so that you could stay and relax for days if you'd like. There is a kitchen area in each room, complete with all you need for simple cooking. Every room looks out to the lake and it's so peaceful. We enjoyed propping our door open and enjoying a cool breeze. There's a little table and chairs in the room, so we got some food at the grocery store and ate in our room. The bathrooms are upgraded, even though the inn is a bit dated. But because it's not new construction, you have those wonderful thick walls between rooms so there are no loud noises to keep you from getting a good night sleep. The beds and bedding are top notch. We were exhausted from a long day of traveling, and had a very good night's sleep here. There is very little road noise from the highway in front of the inn. We'd gladly stay here again. The rates are extremely reasonable.
