Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lander by IHG

Good luck with your room key! This review is based on our experience to try and stay at this hotel, it ended up not happening due to all the problems experienced when we arrived. We checked in at the lobby and were given 2 room keys for a room on the third floor. We spent 10 minutes trying to gain entry and tried every method possible to get the keys to work, they didn't. I went back to the lobby and the got them re-keyed. I retried for another 5 minutes and they did not work. I went back to the lobby again and this time the clerk went up to the room with me and her master key would also not work. She then stated that she would call her maintenance staff member and he had just left. We indicated that we would wait at the room to avoid carrying out luggage back and forth. After 15 minutes, nobody came and we went down to the lobby again. I had to ask when the maintenance person was going to come and fix the problem. The response I got was that she left 2 messages for him and did not know when or if he would return. I then asked for a refund and was offered a room with a king bed and a sleeper sofa. There were 3 of us and my kids did not want to sleep on the sleeper sofa. I finally got a refund after dealing with this situation for almost 45 minutes and finally got one. Ironically, while she was processing the refund, another patron came up to the counter and needed to get her key re-keyed AGAIN, but at least her key was working. Based on the clerk's response, this appears to be something that is prevalent, that they know about, but have not bothered to fix. We went on down to the Inn at Lander (TravelLodge), saved $60 and got a room with keys that worked. Needless to say, I will not be attempting to stay here again given their maintenance problems and knowing I can stay down the road with better rates.

Hotel right on the main road Our bed was comfortable. TV worked. The hallways and elevator were stiflingly hot but rooms did cool adequately. Front desk staff was friendly. Carpet in elevator appeared ridiculously dirty. Bathroom was very clean. Is located next door to a supermarket which was handy.

Great hotel in the right location. This hotel was great. Good service at the desk, nice clean room, and as usual a good hot breakfast. Its location was very handy as we needed somewhere to stay so we could run up to Dubois WY to see the National Military Vehicles Museum. This hotel served our needs well.

Perfect after a long drive Stayed one night after a long drive on a road trip from Denver to Seattle Room large, pool great and a large Safeway next door We are not impressed by US breakfasts but this was better than others we had experienced on our trip

Impressive motel in small town The accommodations were excellent, and, motel seemed relatively new. The breakfast was a full breakfast, overall a pleasant experience. We were just passing through on way back from vacation. The day time front desk person weren't as knowledgeable about surrounding area, as the night time employee.
