LYERS ***BUYER BEWARE*** I booked for 8 nights. had a family emergency back home and had to check out after 5 nights. went to front desk and spoke to clerk and she stated no problem on the early check out and I won't be charged the other 3 nights. they charged me the full 8 nights and won't refund the 3 nights I was not there. these people are thiefs! so I'm doing a credit card charge back.

Really went down hill Must have changed management or ownership because this hotel’s quality is now lacking. Breakfast was exceptional in to past and is now really lacking. Long term guests smoking pot out front and by the side entrance. Really worn chair cushions in the breakfast area. Grouchy staff. Now using disposable plates and silverware. They used to perform above most 3 star hotels and now they are below a 2 star

Being seniors, we requested a quiet room but got a very noisy room instead When I made the hotel reservation, I requested a quiet room as I'm in my late 70's with several health issues including cancer. When I checked in, I requested a quiet room again and the front desk said it would be quiet during our 5-day stay. I was glad to hear that since my wife was not feeling well as I brought her breakfast to the room every morning. For the first three days, it was quiet, but on the last two days, we had to deal with a family of five noisy children in the room right next to us. I've stayed at this Quality Suites about 50 nights since the 1990's and I've never encountered any noise problems until this time. I ended up going to the front desk three times regarding the noise and on one occasion when they called the noisy room, the parents didn't even answer the phone. I was also upset that I was paying a premium rate (nearly $200 which was double the normal rate) for the night that the noise was the loudest. I tried to see the general manager (Edward Granger) but I was unsuccessful. I left a voice mail but Mr. Granger never contacted me. I thought that was poor since this hotel has won numerous awards from Choice including the prestigious Best Hotel of the Year for exceptional guest service. Not getting any additional support or help from the hotel and being a Choice Hotels Rewards member, I contacted their Customer Relations Dept. and spoke to Gin, a "guest experience specialist" about our problems. She was very concerned about what had occurred and couldn't understand why the hotel had put such a noisy family next to us. After getting more details and verifying some information, Gin awarded us 20,000 rewards points. This is an usually high number of points, but considering our age and health, the lack of support from hotel management, and our loyalty to Choice, it was well justified. Although we appreciated receiving the points, my wife and I would have preferred a quiet, stress-free hotel experience. Quality Suites of Lansing has to better address the concerns and needs of its senior guests.

I would find a different hotel next time Lobby smells of stale smoke but rooms did not. Room was large but not very nice. Couch stains, ceiling stains, shower in need of fresh caulking. Still had hair in our shower from last person and thick cobwebs behind bathroom door, so it did not feel clean. Breakfast was the same as most hotels except they serve you from the kitchen. Serving lady was very nice. That made me give them a 3 star rather than 2. It is close to Horrocks but so are at least 3 other nicer looking hotels. I personally would never stay here again or recommend it.
