Good hotel This hotel is old and dated, but has been renovated. We have been here several times and have always stayed in the renovated West tower. The room has 2 queen beds, 2 upholstered chairs, 1 floor lamp, a desk with a lamp that has USB and outlet, 1 safe, 1 refrigerator, bedside lamp with outlet and USB. There is not enough light in the bathroom. The shower is nicely tiled with sliding glass panel doors. My complaint is that the elevators always seem to have issues. Sometimes, of the 3 elevators, only 1 elevator works. The staff is quite friendly and really try to accomodate the guests. One night, the air-conditioning turned on instead of the heat and the temperature of the room was down to 67 degrees. The maintenance staff repaired this issue in the morning. We had room 2041, which is too far from the elevator. The odd number rooms face the East and the morning sun streams into that side of the hotel. This is Not so good if you want to sleep in a little later. The best part of the hotel is the Market Street Cafe, which serves their famous Oxtail soup beginning at 11pm. The restaurant staff is very friendly and accomodating. Since this is a Hawaiian theme hotel and casino, the menu has many Hawaiian/Asian influenced food items. All of those items are very good. I did not try the other restaurants there. Every time that I walked by the other restaurants, I did not see many diners in those restaurants. Tip: ask for even numbered rooms in the West tower if you don't want the morning sun. Ask for lower numbered rooms that are closer to the elevator if you don't want to walk so far to your room.

Terrible place Terrible stay, front desk worker Lana was very rude unprovoked during checkout. They are ignorant about only having 1 working elevator, tried taking the stairs and it’s hard to find the way around the stairs. Was originally supposed to stay in old tower but upgraded to new tower. Failed to mention TWO broken elevators, in the tower we upgraded to. When asked for the compensation for upcharge on room upgrade, they gave us meal comp from the restaurant on our cheapest meal…. That was not equivalent or near the amount we paid with the upgrade. Multiple people jam packed in the elevator, it is super inconvenient for ADA guests and others. The bellmen and restaurant works at market cafe were the only ones who made the stay at California worth it. Would give this place ZERO stars if i could.

Worst Hotel in the World! Worst experience ever after having been to Las Vegas numerous times over several decades. Uncaring and rude staff. If you sit at a slot machine minding your own business security staff will approach you and ask for name, room # and identification. Just like past history of "Show me your papers!". Privacy and respect is not given by staff. They have a non-caring attitude towards patrons and only care that you are playing their machines nonstop. And to top it all off only one elevator works so your jam packed inside with danger of having the elevator overweight with all the people scrambling to their destinations. The stairs are worse with the smell of urine and defecation.

Not Biker friendly Definitely not biker friendly. Rode up on the bikes , 8 bikes total(yes we all had reservations). Pulled up to valet to unlaod the bikes. Told we could not park there. Another guy came up and said we could unpack the bikes but then we had to park the bikes down the street and around the corner at the MainStreet Station. Next morning when we were leaving, we pulled the bikes into valet again to load them up. The guy told us we needed to move the bikes and we couldn’t park there. Tried explaining we were only loading the bikes and we would leave. He kept saying we had to move them. Our stuff was literally inside the door, took us all of 10 minutes to pack the bikes and leave. Bit of an inconvenience to park down the street and around the corner. We weren’t going to drag our luggage that far to load our bikes. Definitely won’t be staying there again. The rooms- outdated. Bathroom so small. Literally have to go in and try to shut the door as your have one leg between the shower and the toilet.

No glamour but well located Fremont Street was great and this place is only 100 yards away. The rooms were big and clean but had a smell of simple. As you entered the hotel you entered the casino which had a constant haze of smoke, people playing the machines 24 hours a day. If these things don’t bother you then book with confidence. Nice staff and a good price. Buffet brunch at the adjoining Main Street Station hotel at around $26 per head, as much as you can eat breakfast and lunch items.
