Front Desk Service Andrea at the front desk was amazing. I was nervous I'd run into some problems and she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and take care of my issue. She made an excellent first impression. Thank you Andrea!!!!

Will not consider stay again Hotel is remodeled. Look good. Stuff are poorly trained. Security guard are all 500 lb fat people. My room was not clean. Called front desk 5 time. But never get done. Finally spoke to manager for 6 call I got water for my medicine and coffee for morning. At 11 pm. Fire alarm go loud couldn’t go to sleep. Alarm stop after 50 minutes. I was pissed vending machines took my $14. . Will not consider stay again

Pretty disappointing but not awful My first and probably last stay at the Downtown Grand. I will start with the positive aspects. The bed was clean and comfortable, pillows were ok (all hotel pillows are too soft imo) Water pressure was decent. Air conditioning was awesome. Now to the bad. We had two rooms for my friend and I, we checked my friends room first and immediately noticed scratches and smudges all over every wall. We found a empty beer bottle and stuffed in the couch cushions. And it was obvious deep thorough cleaning was not done. Entering my room immediately found rhe same scratches, dings and smudges on every wall, plus someone had stolen the artwork off the wall leaving holes in the wall above the bed. The vanity light in the bathroom did not work and it's outlet was loose in the wall. There was mildew growing in the cracks and crevices of the shower, again showing signs of not thorough cleaning. They must have been working on the room directly above mine, early morning heavy footsteps and what sounded like furniture being moved around non stop all day everyday. We had dining vouchers so we went to use them at freedom beat which I have been to in the past and enjoy. They were closed and not one employee could tell me when or if they will open again. They directed me to the hot dog stand "luckys" coffee bar "artbar" or restaurant across the street "triple george grill" I thought Pizza Rock and hot and juicy crawfish were owned/partners or somehow connected to downtown grand, I was almost positive they were but they would not accept the food vouchers. So we settled on triple george grill which was pretty darn good but extremely expensive to where I had to pay $60 on top of the $50 food voucher. The portions are easily shareable. We had two bad experiences with staff, one bar tender actually mocked me when I asked for a virgin drink as I've been sober for 4 years. And one dealer was very rude the entire time, he then moved/centered my friends bet on roulette that then hit and when we asked if he was going to give us the winnings on that bet he said he didn't see it there and we had to ask the pit boss to check the cameras. After that he missed another bet from a lady playing at the same table. All other staff were very friendly and professional. We were annoyed that the table games did not open until 2pm One $1 bj table One $5 bj table, One $10 bj table and One $5 roulette table is all they had. One $5 Craps did not open until 8pm. It wasn't terrible but there are better options downtown.

Great Stay Love this place, convenient location, friendly staff. Got upgraded for our anniversary to a suite. Prices are very reasonable here and you are right across the street from Fremont St.
