Golden Gate Hotel and Casino

Canadians BEWARE We had the pleasure of visiting the Golden Gate Casino due to the advertise Canadian money at par they were offering. So we went there to the interact machine to take the money out of our visa, the slip from the machine directs you to the cash desk to get your money. Now, because my passport and my visa have two different names one Joseph and one Joe they said they could not give me the money because the names do not match. So I asked them three times if I’m gonna be charged on my Visa because I did not get the money and they would said no I would not be charged.. low and behold when I get home, there’s a charge on my visa for that amount not even in pending just a direct charge, now I am fighting to try to get this money recouped. Canadians beware of this casino and their other other affiliate the D Casino. I hope the general manager of this property reads this and contacts me to correct this cause this is fraud with capital letters. Unsatisfied visitor….. will not visit there again will stay on the strip. Concerned, Canadian

Immoral money people I was asked by Kelly O to contact her about this hotel keeping all my money when Trump blocked entry. I keep emailing, she never answers. But she does pretend to offer support on here. But again, does not reply in reality. I was due to stay years ago, ignore May 2025, Trip Advisor forces you to pick a recent month which is pathetic. So yeah, the hotel kept all my money despite not even having to service my booking or room in any way, meaning they made more money and they blame ME for not being able to enter the Country. PSA this place is horrible! This place is a total joke! If you're smart you will not try it! I originally booked a two double room bed and upon arrival I was given the tiniest room they have (their words) which has only a TWIN bed and was told a twin sleeps two people!! In what world?! (I was told all of this by the manager) They moved me to a one queen the next night, but didn't even comp the resort fee. Which is a joke here too by the way! There is nothing resort like about this place. The rooms (even the queen) are very small and dingey. You can't even control room temperature. Not worth the novelty of being a Vegas original!

If you go, make sure your not on the Freemont St. side of the Hotel! Understanding the age of the Hotel, the room was very small (Standard Room) and the A/C was pitiful. It NEVER got cool. When opening the door to the room, I had to do a big hip check to get it to clear the frame. I was on the 2nd floor with my window facing the Circa Stage that performed until 2 am. The front desk said nothing about this. Since I only stayed there 2 nights I let it go. The bathroom was so small that the door would not fully open because the toilet was blocking it. All the staff at the casino, desk, bar, and cleaning staff were very friendly.

ripped its heart out Was a loyal patron of the Golden Gate for over 20 years. Loved its low key, blue collar vibe and friendly atmosphere. Never understood why they got rid of the dancer poles in the pit. That was a reason to come and play. But a recent walk through, with all table games ripped out and replaced with slots was like going to the hospital and seeing a relative on life support. This is a sad, sad development, and other than the parking, there is no reason to visit the GG anymore. And that is a damn shame.
