Business Trip Subject: Disappointing Business Stay: Issues with Lighting and Noise I know it’s Vegas and also downtown. I recently completed a three-night business stay, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. Having stayed at this property several years ago, the current atmosphere felt significantly more somber and under-illuminated than I remembered. The primary issue is the inadequate lighting throughout the hotel and the Rush Tower rooms. The heavy use of brown and orange tones, combined with dim fixtures, creates a very "dark" environment. In the bathroom specifically, the wallpaper and lighting levels created a cramped, almost claustrophobic feel. This issue extended to the meeting facilities; the lighting was rather insufficient for reviewing printed materials, which was a hindrance during business sessions. Prospective guests should also be aware of the noise levels in the Rush Tower. Despite being on the 16th floor, the music from Fremont Street was loud enough to disturb sleep until well after midnight. On a positive note, the rooms were very clean. Additionally, Vic & Anthony’s remains one of the absolute best steakhouses in the country. Worth visiting even if staying at a different location. While the restaurant suffers from the same dim lighting as the rest of the hotel, the food quality is exceptionally great. There are also other restaurants on the premises that are good. I’m not saying the average travelers wouldn’t be satisfied with a stay here due to the proximity of Fremont St. However, due to the noise and lighting issues, I likely will not return for future business travel.

Horrible, horrible experience disgusting hotel I recently stayed here at the Golden Nugget upon check-in. They have kiosks now that will check you in except for they’re very finicky and glitchy and the staff that were there to and a “assist we’re only there to help upsell you to bigger rooms so you spend more money every night when you decline that offer they no longer seem to be interested in helping you. We then found out unless we paid US$30 to check in an hour and a half early we would not get our room keys so we had to go wait by the bar. The bar was the best part of the place FYI Richard the Server was phenomenal into the room within the first 45 minutes of being in the actual room my friend took a shower and the bathtub started to flood up to his leg, just below his knees. The shower would hit the wall and when he was done, the entire floor of the washroom was saturated and water. I had to call the front desk to send somebody out. They sent maintenance right away when he came up, he was kind of trying to blame my friend for making a mess and then he said housekeeping would come up and clean up the mess. We quickly got ready because we had an event to go to that night and when we came back at around midnight the place was still a mess, but we just decided to go to bed because we had to get up early forward to Saturday. We are abruptly woken up by hotel security at 7 o’clock in the morning apparently if you do not use housekeeping or call the front desk on a regular basis, they send Security into your room to do a wellness check. Not sure why it’s 7 o’clock in the morning. They would send somebody into the room knowing people are most likely sleeping why they wouldn’t call us is beyond me, and then a few hours later housekeeping walked into our room because they do not disturb tag had either fall enough or they had taken it off. The other major issues were the room was so dingy. There was thick dust everywhere in the washroom on the by the bathtub in the floor black mold the ceiling was peeling, and the sprinkler head in the shower room was completely rusted from the moisture the entire time we were there it was super damp in the room and disgusting. It made the air very thick and gross. I would not recommend staying here. The majority of the staff were very rude dismissive ignorant into the top it off. The pool wasn’t working completely locked off so you couldn’t even go out onto the deck to go in some bath, and it was open a week before, but then there was the mismatch of the reasons why it was shut down. One person said it flooded the week before and that it had some issues with it as a result one person said oh no, they’re doing a full renovation. Another person said that there was a mechanical issue and so forth and so forth it’s too bad because it was a really good location and we met some really lovely people there, but I would definitely never recommend staying at the Golden Nugget.
