One night stop over after Christmas Party This was perfect value for our overnight stay after our Xmas party at The Motorist. The twin rooms were clean and beds extremely comfy. Cooked breakfast was average, better quality bacon/sausage would help. Special mention to Kayden the night Porter he was so helpful friendly and very proud of his role.

Good room everything else disappointing Good size room clean except for bathroom window and blind mould all around it. A bit disappointing to pay for onsite parking as nothing else there. Good breakfast but evening meal was horrendous cheap frozen battered fish fillet massively over priced and inedible. Nothing like the photo on the website would 100% recommend eating elsewhere.

Unlucky or Normal? Maybe we were unlucky but I really think this hotel needs a facelift. The reception staff were lovely when we checked in. The room is perfectly adequate for an overnight stay with two chairs and table so, if you want to play cards you can do without one person sitting on the bed. It was when we came to breakfast that things went downhill. There was no one to show us to a table or tell us what “the drill” was. When someone eventually came past land noticed our table wasn’t laid, she put that right. I asked for 2 poached eggs and there was hesitation with a reply “well I can ask the chef but …”. There were no fried eggs just solid scrambled egg which were awful. The coffee was hot and very good so that gets a tick. I wouldn’t stay here again which is a shame because it is quiet despite being on the old A1 and convenient for us meeting up with family. Fingers crossed the Best Western for Christmas in Guernsey is better.

Pretty grim. Not worthy of the Best Western name and definitely nothing "Plus" about it either Our first impression of this hotel was pretty dire. It is a shabby, run down place in a very dubious area, on the side of a dual carriageway. The car park is a mixture of weeds and crumbling tarmac. Absolutely nothing like the pictures on the BW website! We were checked in swiftly enough, although the full emphasis was explaining how to avoid a parking charge and being quickly parted from £5.50 to park in an empty and shabby car park. A professional welcome wouldn't have gone amiss. Is there no dress code for staff here? The corridor smelled damp, with a line of cheap plug in air fresheners adorning the sockets. Our room had a fine view of the weeds and was also rather shabby. I have awarded two stars to account for the clean bed and excellent soundproofing. We never heard the road. The bathroom was more tired than the bedroom. Breakfast was also rather grim. Four tables of diners shared some horrified giggles as the staff member noisy scraped plates directly into a bin bag in front of us all. Unbelievable to watch a mucky old trolley clanking around us, like a school canteen. The breakfast buffet needed a really good clean. Where else would serve bread straight from a plastic bag....? Best Western Plus? More like Worst Western Minus.

Hotel fine, bar hygiene. The hotel was fine. I was left dumbfounded by an unbelievable bar man who drained beer which had overflowed the glass onto his hands whilst pouring back into my pint, and then used a used beer mat to swipe off the head on the glass before serving it. He was completely oblivious to the fact he had done anything wrong. He genuinely seemed pleased to have solved the problem of where to drain the beer off his hands, and having solved the head problem repeated it on the next three pints he poured. As I say dumbfounded by lack of hygiene knowledge.
