Perfect weekend stay This inn was a pleasant surprise. We loved having the mini fridge and coffee maker in the room, which was sizable for an inn. The king bed was perfect. Check-in was seamless and parking on-site was a bonus. We could leave our car and walk right into town. The location was 5 star too!

Hostile hostess This review is of the restaurant, where I intended to have dinner recently. The woman serving as hostess was beyond rude. When we approached to ask for a table, she turned her back and said, "you'll have to wait while I seat customers who came before you". Problem was, we were the first guests to arrive and only two tables were occupied. We decided to be patient and follow her instructions to wait at the bar. After patiently having drinks she continued to ignore us. So we approached a second time and she ignored us again, staring at her computer screen as if we weren't standing there. When asked if we were going to be seated, she haughtily replied, "well, it's very difficult on Saturdays". But there were literally on two occupied table, it was 5:30, and the place was empty. Spare yourself the insult of dealing with this hostess.

Very pleased, will definitely return next season Our stay was, like last season, exceptional. The accommodations were lovely, clean and very comfortable. It was a short walk to town and an easy location to get to the sights. We had dinner one night at the hotel which was excellent along with a fantastic breakfast we had each morning. The staff was wonderful, attentive and professional! That personal touch made everyone in our party feel like VIPs!

No a/c, no problem ! This is a wonderfully situated Inn in the middle of Lenox, with a staff that went over and above excellent service to make our 4 night stay memorable. The biggest problem that they had to overcome was that the a/c went down on the first day, with temperatures hovering in the high 80's........no problem, a big portable fan was provided along with offers to relocate us temporarily to another Inn and even a second big fan if needed.......quick a/c repair and no further issues.....we will go back.

A new dining choice in Lenox The Gateway Inn has a newer up scale French themed restaurant that is excellent. My wife had the asparagus risotto, which was unusual but good. I have Steak Frites, also excellent. The pickled vegetables were tart and tangy. Only complaint about the dinner menu is that the entree options are very limited. There is also a very extensive wine and liquor menu. The best part was the service. The receptionist was charming and very skilled at making us welcome . Our waitress, Julia B. was wonderful. She has a great since of humor, knowledge about the food, and works to make sure you are taken care of. I can make State Frites at home, so service is a big factor in eating out. Julia B. made my night a great experience.
