Rooms smell of old cigarettes The hotel smelled clean when we entered. Staff was friendly checking in and we loved the salt water pool. The rooms; however smelled of cigarettes (even though it's now a no smoking facility) and the bathroom was so small that you literally had to stand to the side of the toilet to close the door and get to the bathtub. I would say this was not bad for the price, but we stayed there twice. Once on our drive out from NC to CO and on the way back a week later. The first night stay was $99. I tried booking the second trip online and it wouldn't let me, so I called the hotel to make the reservation. At no point did he mention a price nor did I get a confirmation email. When I checked out, I noticed the price from one week to the second was now $205 a night!!! This was NOT a good deal for that price and had my review just been based on this night I would have given 2 stars. I have to give Kudos to the pleasant staff though, especially the morning breakfast gal who was so nice on both of our stays. I will not stay here for future stays though, that smell (in 2 different rooms on the first floor) was overwhelming.

Choose another We stayed for 4 nights. Hotel had some good points: good carpeting, huge TV, comfy king bed in our room. But the poor quality workmanship was evident throughout, with scraped wall paint, an A/C unit that point out VERY HIGHLY HUMIDIFIED air and would not shut off when it reached the set point - so much a problem that each morning, the inside of our window was dripping water into the window track, which showed signs of mold growth. Another severe problem was the TINY size of the bathroom - we are normal (small-sized, actually) people, and hotel front desk assured me that EVERY ROOM i this hotel suffers from TINY bathrooms. In fact, the bathroom (sink, toilet, shower/tub combo) was so small that once inside, you could not even shut the door without sliding yourself into approximately 10 inches between toilet and countertop first. There were good places to plug in electronics (phone, computer, tablet) and the amazingly comfortable mattresses for which Best Westerns are known. VERY POOR office chair (we were there for work) which did not lower or raise at all, so I ended up working by sitting on a pillow on top of the chair seat. All furniture is old and in need of a refresh, although it is serviceable. There are many hotels in the area - I would not stay here again.

Great experience I stayed here based on a friend’s recommendation. I was not disappointed! Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. I love that the entire place is smoke free. The bed and pillows were top notch. Breakfast was good. The automatic pancake maker was a first!

Comfortable but room for improvement. The good: The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a good selection. John with the front desk was very helpful. The bad: The bathroom was small. The air conditioning did not work well. The room was hot and felt humid. John with the front desk was able to get it to work a little better than I could but the room was not as cool as it should have been. It was difficult to sleep at the temperature of the room. Upon checkout the day person at the front desk was still training and could not split the bill for my friend and myself. Overall impression: It was in a good location and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and it would have been a better stay had the air conditioning worked as it should have. I am willing to give the hotel another chance on a future trip.
