Nice staff / good hotel I was a bit worried because of the other reviews However, our experience was great. The food in the lounge was outstanding. The staff all around was very friendly and yet professional. The breakfast was absolutely in line with other Hilton hotel experiences. The room was clean and everything worked. So all in all a solid Hilton experience and very well located.

Tremendous Refurbishment! I am just home after a one night stay at Hilton Lille. Thank you to the Reception Team for a warm Welcome and the Honors upgrade. The refurbishment of the hotel is almost complete and this was my first experience of the new Rooms - very very impressed! As others have noted, the old rooms were in dire need of updating. The rooms are now contemporary and stylish, and great bathrooms. I have a lot of work in Lille in early 2025 so look forward to re-visiting. The breakfast was previously 'average to good', but I think this has also been improved, and I would describe it now as very good (this from an Englishman who enjoys the 'hot items', rather than the continental style!) Some refurbishment work is still to be completed hence 4 rather than5 starts - the in-room telephone system was not working (this was a problem as I needed to call Reception) and while English language TV channels are listed, none of them work. Netflix users can access their own account on the inform TV. Also I would prefer the bedroom a little cooler - the AirCon is one of the quietest in a hotel that I have experienced which is very good, but when the AC is on 'winter settings' the ability to cool the room is limited - this is a Management decision on how they set the BMS (to save money on energy!) Overall, very impressed.

Two fire alarms - a dangerous situation. No announcement, no explanation and not apology First of all nobody greeted us on arrival and we had to wait five minutes (with a queue building) for the receptionist to return. No explanation or apology was provided. We were woken at 4am by a fire alarm and vacated the building via a stairwell which led us into an area where we assumed a boiler had burst. There was thick steam and near boiling water spilling down the stairs. We had to wade through this water to get access to the exit. Outside the building there were about 50 guests milling around. There were no emergency services and no hotel staff. After 15mins a hotel receptionist appeared at the reception. He provided no announcement,, explanation or apology and when asked what was happening he advised that we return to bed. Which we did. 15mins later, the same thing happened again. This time we went down a back stairwell (which was filthy with discarded plates etc.). Again no announcement, no explanation and no apology. I subsequently sent a complaint to the company and again have seen nothing in return.

Poor...very poor for a Hilton Hilton with very very law level. It lags behind all Hilton's level. GardenInn or Hampton are much better. Breakfast for example no lemon, cold plate very limited and it is rather GardenInn level breakfast; capsule coffee. No coffee machine making fresh coffee??? We haven't encountered this in any of the Hiltons yet. In the executive lounge during happy hour very very poor; poorest executive lounge we heve ever been to. There was no choice at all. On the first evening, nothing hot, a few small cold sandwiches, only wine, no strong alcohol, no beer. We brought this to the attention of the staff, unfortunately it didn't help. At our request, we were made drinks at the bar. The next day the executive lounge improved a little: there were hot snacks. Still no alcohol. I guess in France the concept of "happy hour" has a completely different meaning... I think Hilton line would need to have a closer look into it. The only good thing was the Kusmi tea set, with chopped ginger. Small rooms, even those of a higher standard. Cold in the room, air conditioning max 24 degrees, not possible to remote control. Toilet: water splashes onto the floor when flushing. Coffee machine in the room: capsules not refilled. No proper recognission of Diamond Hilton Member: no bottled water in the room, no welcome letter or welcome drink upon arrival.

Strange Hilton As HH Diamond Members, we have stayed at around 40 Hilton Hotels around the World. This Hotel is amongst the most odd! The location is amazing, right alongside the Eurostar Station - and within easy walking distance of the City Centre. At present the Hotel is undergoing renovations, but that itself caused little inconvenience. Whilst our room was adequate, it was very dated and dark. Considering we had supposedly been upgraded, it was pretty basic. Our breakfast was bulk standard buffet fare - similar to a Holiday Inn Express - but was just about ok. For that reason we are dinner elsewhere. As for the Executive Lounge - to be honest it was awful. No sign of any staff - very little edible food and, most importantly, no beer or spirits. No wonder we were the only two people present. It appeared that the Hotel was virtually empty - hardly any other guests were visible. Either it’s a seasonal hotel - or not highly regarded. In conclusion, a convenient hotel that could be much, much better.
