Fun, friendly and relaxing. It is a fun and refreshing place. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has been around for decades; however, thanks to good maintenance and cleanliness, it looks great. I have stayed several times at Surftides and have not been disappointed. Fun amenities for the family and roomy areas to relax. Can’t wait to go back!

A comfortable stopover... Located right next to the beach our seaside room rumbled to the sound of the ocean waves; lovely. The room was old fashioned, spacious, with some furniture that needs a decent burial. Everything worked okay (fridge, tv, wifi etc). There’s a nice balcony outside the restaurant with a view of the beach…which can be accessed directly from the hotel. We got brilliant sunsets from of west facing ocean balcony. A comfortable stopover.

Nice BUT - No cable for weeks and we were not informed until check in The hotel on the beach has a great view, decent beds. Nice looking room.We have stayed several times over the years. BUT....This time we were not told ahead (bookings.com listing) that the cable was out until check in. We were staying 2 days. After looking at the reviews, the cable had been out since the beginning of August. That was 4 weeks + - before we arrived. That is UNACCEPTABLE that we were not informed ahead of time. TV is a basic thing you expect in a motel. No more complimentary coffee and water in the lobby. They have gone downhill over the years _. We will be looking for a new favorite next time.

Don't pay extra for "premium" or for a fireplace! Paid for a premium double queen with fireplace room. Fireplace not operational. We were promised a 10% discount for this oversight; only received a 5% discount. The "premium" room had no clock, no closet, no drawers, no plates or utensils of any kind, no lock box, only one suitcase stand. Streaming TV channels (Disney, etc.) required that you log in with your home service. Front desk personnel were friendly. View was great.

Good Place but Needs Updating We have been staying at the Surftides for about 30 years. It is always good and the view is what attracts us and is on the beach. The room was tidy and the bed comfortable, as usual. What has changed over the years is customer service and room amenities. The hotel needs some real maintenance and updating. It is a '70s throwback. Very little in the way of toiletries (you have to go to the desk for soap), cable TV is out but DVD players are in. Free rentals at front office. The deck chair was broken and the staff never replaced it as promised. I think covid had some effect and still does. No maid service unless you ask for it. Locks are late 20th century and don't work without jigging them around and, I don't mind, metal keys. These are just inconveniences and were overcome with streaming from the laptop and doing our own cleaning of dishes etc. Otherwise it was a great stay. I come for the view and it's on the beach.
