OLD THORNS MANOR HOTEL

Great place to Stay - staff, food and facilities excellent Stayed for the weekend to play golf (12 of us). Facilities are great, the hotel is staffed by friendly and helpful people. Had dinner in the Sports Bar and the attentive service from Ben & Cludia was great as was the food. Will come again.

Nice but overpriced Went as a few couples spa and golf break the spa was wonderful Abbie took great care of me and I would highly recommend, the rooms are clean and have everything you need even an iron and board ! The food let it down as menu limited unless you pay a supplement which we did but unfortunately wasn’t great , tbf they were catering for a large wedding party which may have put them under pressure , the staff were apologetic and did adjust the bill however it didn’t help with the hunger lol, all in all we had a good time but I probably wouldn’t rush to rebook at the price point of £400 per couple for 1 night

Disappointing! Don’t waste your money. My sister in law & I went away for a spa break & overnight stay. We had been years before & really enjoyed it. However, this time was such a disappointment. The staff in the spa could not be bothered & acted as if our presence was an inconvenience for them. Having paid over £100 for a massage, I had expected a bit more of a welcome. The massage itself was lovely but when I’d asked to use the relaxation facilities afterwards (whilst waiting for my sis in law’s treatment to finish) there were whispers between my masseuse & spa reception and I was told unfortunately the only area available was the spa waiting area. After this however I had a bit of a wander, found an indoor relaxation room as well as a lovely sunny terrace, both located within the spa area. Other spa patrons were there so I chose to wait on the terrace as I too was a paying spa customer. The pool is nice but the heated lounge chairs don’t warm up, the foot spa water was cold & the amenities in general are all a bit tired. Such a shame, I really wanted to love it but was so underwhelmed by the whole experience. I provided feedback to the hotel after my stay, which has never been acknowledged which again is a bit of a let down. I won’t be back & have shared my experience with others so they can hopefully avoid being disappointed as we were.

Lovely hotel. Great experience would definitely return Lovely hotel very clean nice decor very friendly staff. Great spa and had a lovely massage. Nice out door area in the spa with loungers if the weather is good.we had a good value package with dinner included which had a good choice on the menu . Rooms were nice , lovely big comfortable bed, housekeeping came in every day.very smooth check in and then we did online check out which made it even quicker. We had a long walk around the grounds in the woodland and there is a pub on the edge of the grounds as you first come in. Would definitely be back .

Poor service Not worth the money, 4 star hotel and spa but could not cater for someone with allergies who just wanted a plain cheese sandwich made with block cheese not processed, no smoked salmon , no bananas, spa reception staff seem detached from customer service ,maybe it’s not a good company to work for, when relaxing on the terrace there was no service and I was told if I wanted drinks to go downstairs and get them from cafe ( 4 star ) £440 , sorry but you are just not providing any where near value for money.
