Maldron Hotel Derry

Derry, home of Derry Girls, The Undertones, and so much more! First time traveling in Ireland and Northern Ireland, we found Derry to be an absolute joy! The Walled City is rich in history, the people are kind and friendly and enjoy watching sport and nights on the town. We spent two nights at Maldron Hotel Derry, enjoyed it very much. Just inside the wall, easy access to shops, pubs, restaurants. Caoimhe, the receptionist, welcomed us and checked us in. She remembered us every time we stopped for recommendations or other questions. Shannon, also at the front desk, was very helpful and friendly, as well. Our room was spacious, warm and quiet. The room, common areas, and attached pub dedicated to Derry’s deep musical history, were all very clean. Traveling during the offseason proved cost effective. Being from Seattle, we felt at home with the cool weather and walking the city. We do hope to return, and would happily stay at Maldron Hotel again!

Not disappointed at all The hotel is very well situated, right beside the wall and a few minutes from the main shopping area. The hotel, although a little dated, we’ve been going for some years now, is very clean and tidy. The rooms are well maintained and also very clean, with hardwood flooring rather than carpet which I personally prefer. We always choose the special deals which are generally good value. Staff cannot be nicer or any more helpful in any area of the hotel but I would particularly name Calum in the breakfast room who is meticulous in everything he does. He never stops cleaning, clearing and helping and pretty much does the job of two people, literally! All staff are well presented and smart, although I have to point out that one staff member in the breakfast room looks scruffy and unkempt . I’m probably too fussy but I expect smart looking staff in the food areas! We had dinner in the restaurant and couldn’t get beef any more delicious and tender if we went to one of the high priced restaurants. No complaints whatsoever. The only issue we had was the lift which creaked and shook and struggled on occasions to open the doors! One time we got in on the fourth floor and pushed the button for the ground floor. It went down, up, down, creaked, shook and then struggled to open the doors. I was assured that it had been serviced a few weeks before our visit! However we didn’t let this ruin our enjoyment and are looking forward to returning in the near future.

Amazing When stayed here twice in November, and all I can say is that it's a fabulous hotel staff are so friendly I want to specially mention to member of staff that work in the reception area night only is Shea and Barney these boys go above and beyond, I can't thank them enough for making our stay memorable, keep up the great work from Lisa and thomas

Amazing customer service by Kadie and Amanda Exceptional service received by Kadie and Amanda in the Maldon Hotel Derry. They were extremely kind and helpful and nothing was a bother, thank you so much! They are an asset to the company, thank you again for everything Kadie and Amanda, would highly recommend!
