Traveling for business-STAY HERE ABSOLUTELY the best experience I have had traveling for awhile. The staff was so accomodating and friendly. THE BREAKFAST was delicious and fresh. After a long day of working and missing my family, I decided to have a sirloin salad and a cold beer for supper. It truly was absolutely delicious. If someone said it was from Ruths Chris, I would have believed them.

Price Gouging at its finest! Buyer Beware Read the Reviews on Yelp: Buyer Beware! I stayed at the Holiday Inn Louisville Airport South during the busy week of the Kentucky Derby, and my experience was extremely disappointing. Despite booking well in advance, I encountered numerous issues that made my stay unpleasant and frustrating. Booking Experience: My troubles began with the booking process. I reserved my room well ahead of time through their website, which prominently features a "Reservation Desk" logo at the bottom. Despite this, I was a victim of price gouging due to the high demand during Derby week, paying over $500 per night for what turned out to be, at best, a 2.5-star hotel. Price and Cancellation Issues: As the event approached, I noticed that room rates had dropped by half of what I had paid. I checked the hotel's cancellation policy and confirmed with both Opal and the General Manager that I would be eligible for a full refund. I canceled my reservation through Priceline, called my credit card company, and verified with the hotel that my cancellation was fully refundable. Despite these confirmations, I was charged again four weeks later. Room Quality: The room I finally received was not the type I had originally booked. Although it was clean, it did not justify the exorbitant price I paid. The room's amenities were basic and did not match the advertised quality on their website. Service: The service was subpar. The staff seemed overwhelmed by the influx of guests and struggled to meet basic customer service standards. My requests for extra towels and room service were either ignored or took an unreasonably long time to be fulfilled. Amenities: The amenities were poorly maintained. The buffet area was dusty, and I even spotted bugs on the ground. The shuttle bus service was another disappointment; the vehicle was dirty and in a state that made me reluctant to touch anything inside it. Dining Options: The dining options were below average. The buffet was unappealing, with food items that looked like they had been sitting out for too long. Cleanliness was a major issue, which made me avoid eating there as much as possible. Location: While the hotel's location is convenient for attending the Kentucky Derby, being close to key locations, this did not compensate for the numerous issues I faced during my stay. Overall Impression: Overall, my stay was far below my expectations, especially given the high rates during the Derby week. The lack of organization, poor customer service, and overall maintenance issues significantly detracted from my experience. Recommendation: I would not recommend staying at here, particularly during peak events like the Kentucky Derby. The hotel's mismanagement and inadequate service make it a poor choice, and I hope that the management takes these criticisms seriously and works towards improving the experience for future guests.

Entropy reigns supreme Lousy experience at this HI but happy that I was only here for one night. Very close to the interstate and very loud at all hours of the day and night with lots of truck traffic VERY slow internet that was not at all reliable for business use. To top it all off they only supplied ONE bar of soap and no shower gel so I had to transfer my one tiny soap from the sink to the shower. Obviously the management is concerned about saving pennies at the expense of chasing away corporate customers.

middling place, careful about breakfast The location was okay, apparently close to the airport and university. It was also close to a good pizza place. I didn't care for the self-closing door on the bathroom, especially since I like to use the bathroom for some illumination in an unfamiliar place. There was also a weird floor unevenness by the air conditioning unit. I prepaid $10 for the breakfast with my reservation, the signs said they charged $20 otherwise, which is too much for the product.
