La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lubbock West Medical Centr

The hotel has huge security issues along with many other problems This hotel is a HUGE mess!!! We arrived on a Sunday evening. I asked the front desk clerk about using the pool. He said the pool closed at 10:00. Fine, then I walked by the pool and there wasn't even any water in it. WTH The room card does not work to open the "secured" doors, so the management has the doors TAPED to stay open at all times. Anyone can get into this hotel and cause havoc. I am attaching a picture. The tape looks like it has been on the door for a long time. Before leaving, I went to use the restroom in my room and there was no door handle inside the bathroom to get out. It was nowhere to be found. I sliced my finger open trying to open the door! We had three rooms. There were cockroaches in the 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. One of the rooms also had a leaking toilet. Not one ice machine works. The filter on the ice machine on the second floor hasn't been changed since 2017. Only 1 elevator works, so we had to use the stairs. A hotel worker was standing in the middle of the breakfast kitchen eating piles of food as people tried to get around him. After getting locked in the bathroom, I went to the front desk and asked for a manager. I was told that the manager will not be back until Tuesday. The manager, Debbie Valderaz finally called me and had no concern in regard to any of the issues! She didn't care that I was locked in the restroom for 10 minutes with my finger bleeding. She didn't care about lack of security. My huge concern for YOU reading this, is the doors to the building are TAPED open and anyone can come into the building. Huge security issue.

Nice location for medical This is the best place I have found to stay for Medial appointments at TT UMC. The rooms are clean and getting to medical appointments is literally around the corner!

Excellent stay for the price Overall a great stay, comfortable bed, clean room, GREAT breakfast and most importantly PET FRIENDLY!

Lubbock wedding trip We were very pleased with our stay at LA Quinta in Lubbock for our niece's wedding. The room was very clean, comfortable bed, cool air conditioning. We enjoyed the breakfast and the pool was nice. The front desk people were always friendly and welcoming.

Going downhill!! Used to be a decent enough hotel when it was new. Not so much now. The room didn't smell great, the paint in the room was poorly done, repairs looked very poor in general! It just felt dirty! We had a roach in the bathroom! We should have said something but we didn't. Our last stay was 3 years ago and that was great.....not this time.
