Will never stay here again. From the moment we entered the front door we could tell this would not be a very good experience as the front door was blocked open and the lob by was very warm and stuffy.. Rooms were not clean, water was standing in the hallway from an apparent water leak, carpet was wet, ceiling drywall over the bed was cracked, stained and about to fall, 50% of the lights did not work in the room, coffee maker did not work, room telephone was missing the cord that connected it to the wall jack, window was unable to be locked and could have been easily pushed open as we were on the first floor. Telephone in the elevator lobby was missing and elevator was filthy. Swimming pool had a very green color to the water. As this was graduation weekend for Texas Tech University all hotels were filled and this hotel took advantage of the opportunity to increase rates to $240.00 per night.

Worse Marriott that I have stayed in I think this was one of the worse Marriott hotels that I have ever stayed in. In the first room, they gave me, nothing worked, no phone, no power outlets, no AC, and had holes in the couch. In the second room, they gave me the roof was caving in because of water damage and had black mold. The light fixture on the ceiling over the desk was coming down, exposing wires. The toilet had brown stains at the bottom because it wasn’t kept clean, there was a film of dust everywhere, it was missing the easy chair and they did not have breakfast in the morning (even though the state of Texas had removed all covid restrictions several weeks prior). We requested a bottom floor room because of our disabilities but were told that they were full even though there were only a few cars in the parking lot. After we got there and got into the second room and complained (but was too scared to ask for a different room because it might be worse than what we had) we were told the hotel is just about to start renovations. We were not told this until after we were in the room. If we were warned about this we would have chosen another Marriot hotel. I have never had a problem with the Marriot brand and usually love their hotels. But this experience gave me a bad taste. I am hoping with this review that they will change the way they advertise your hotels that are going through renovations and warn the public (or at least your rewards members) about the state of the hotel.

Very Sad..Run down place Room Cleanliness = 9/10. The person who prepared the room was very kind with a little note hoping we enjoy our stay. I thought that’s a very nice gesture. Lobby/Hallways Cleanliness = 3/10. Trash bag on the hallways, carpet not clean especially at the front desk/reception area. 7:00 AM and there is no breakfast on sight. Room Furniture = 7/10 The Hotel looks like it has been abandoned, dining area dark and all chairs above tables, reception area entrance is a Chios. It is sad to see everything now is blamed on COVID-19, that’s what the front desk explanation. The hotel looked like it has 10% occupancy rate, Ambience is creepy like you are in prison. You always trust the Marriott name, but definitely no more with this brand name. The noise in the room was unbearable, the refrigerator was making noise all night. There are two huge spotlights outside my window, although the blinds were closed the light was still coming in. Completely restless night.

sad, broken down place After staying several times in Marriott properties, this was a terrible stay. Room 1 that was allocated to us had no electricity. Room 2 was a 2 bedroom suite which was nice, but the the airconditioner was not working in one of the bedrooms. Cramped bathroom did not do any favors either. Hotel is undergoing what I think is renovation and hopefully things should look up in future.
