Murder Mystery Weekend at Echo Lake Inn Lots of fun! This historic Hotel (Calvin Coolidge stayed here) is delightful and a perfect setting for a murder. The food was very creative and delicious. The staff couldn’t be nicer. The surprise “demise” of a variety of “guests” provided constant surprise and entertainment. Can’t wait to return.

Charming New England antiquity without being antiquated Nestled deep in the dense forests of Vermonts green mountains and worlds away from bustling Main streets, packed strip malls and summer highway traffic is Echo Lake Inn, an ode to classic Rockwellian New England beauty with enough of a sense of modernity to appeal to almost anybody. The Inn built in the waning days of the 18th century is full of comfortable areas to relax and celebrate your vacation. A small but fully stocked bar with local beers and wines is adorned with odes to Vermonts history specifically President Calvin Coolidge who is one of the many historical figures who’ve spent time at the Inn throughout the years. The deep cushioned leather chairs and couches offer premium relaxation to enjoy a nightcap to put an exclamation point on a fantastic day. The cavernous basement has, what was during our stay a non functional bar area full of local beer taps not in use. There is a dart board, pool table and an endless supply of board/ card games to relax and waste the day away with. The large and charmingly forward sloped wooden farmers porch is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the thick forest and nearby black brook that flows into the pristine reflective echo lake for which the Inn is named If wasting away the day playing games or taking in the scenery isn’t your speed then there is plenty of hiking trails, golf, paddle board and kayaking right by the Inn. And of course during the winter months the Inn is in the shadow of Okemo mountain, one of Vermonts premier ski resorts. Modern amenities include a hot tub in a nearby small pool house that comfortably fits four to six, and sits adjacent to a tennis/pickleball court As for my personal experience I showed up on a Friday afternoon with a group of nine for a Murder Mystery experience. This event brought about 60 visitors to the inn and despite the onslaught of seemingly never needing guest arrivals the staff didn’t miss a beat along the way. Never once did we feel the staff was inattentive or that the experience wasn’t enjoyable despite the ever increasing crowd. During this time of year (early June) a lot of the downtown area is shut down or on limited and restricted hours so the Inn became our sanctuary. All of our needs were at worst met, and far often exceeded. TOM, the Inn owner and his staff were absolutely amazing. Simply singing the praises of the staff on a review board would not do them the justice they deserve. I’d advise anybody who makes this area of the Green Mountains a destination to come to the Echo Lake Inn. It was old world hospitality and charm that kept everybody happy and made just another weekend into an unforgettable experience that myself and my friends will treasure. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Inns most popular employee the lovable and accommodating She Ra. A sweetheart of a dog that makes all guests feel at home.

Murder Mystery Weekend! We attended a Keith & Margo Murder Mystery Weekend here and the Inn offered a perfect backdrop. The staff were beyond friendly and accommodating, the prices were reasonable for both the room and bar drinks, and the Inn was cozy and warm. We would definitely do another Murder Mystery Weekend here!

Beautiful setting, needs some improvements This B&B is a beautiful historic site and convenient to Okemo and Killington. Beds were super comfortable. Some furniture in the room was worn but it was functional and we had hot water in the shower. Public living room area has coffee/cocoa machine, books, and sitting area. Hot tub is in a separate building close to the main house- the space is not designed for a hot tub and so a painting hung on the wall was buckling and mildewy, the ceiling was wavy/buckling from the moisture, and it smelled like mold. It's nice that they have a small bar area offering drinks. Restaurant for dinner is overpriced, though the food was good. Wrap-around porch is sloped and in need of reinforcement. Staff were friendly and helpful but we did not have housekeeping during our stay. Limited clientele during our stay.

Murder Mystery Weekend What a quaint hidden gem. Recently went for a Murder Mystery Weekend and had a lovely time. The food was outstanding and was the perfect getaway. We stayed in room 25 and had a comfy bed. Small refrigerator was also the the room which was a bonus. Being an old building the walls are slightly thin to hear others but this did not detract from our trip. The staff was wonderful. We enjoyed ourselves and met some very nice people.
