Holiday Inn Express Lynchburg by IHG

Paid twice, for two rooms. Paid with 3rd party discount service. Had receipt of payment, had reservation number, paid reservation said no refundable. When we got to hotel, hotel charged us again because they say they didn’t get payment yet. Paid twice for two rooms. Was promptly refunded 12 hours later. Poor customer service in my opinion.

Pleasant first time visit I had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before, so I didn't know what to expect although I have friends who love staying at them. The front desk staff was welcoming and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Complimentary snacks/drinks were readily available in the lobby which was a fabulous touch. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. There was ample parking.

Not the worst or best Stopped here for a one night stay on a bus trip in late September. Let me first say the hotel did accommodate a large group of us after our original hotel had to cancel our reservation due to a water leak. For that thank you. The hotel was under renovations and we were fortunate to have one of the newer rooms. Spacious, and good bed, not bad at all. My complaint was with whoever the bartender/manager was that night. The service was absolutely the pits. They were having a function in another room and the people who ordered food here just waited and waited. After the manager took our order of just ice cream he hurriedly placed down 2 glasses of water and never came back to us 30 minutes later. We decided to leave and he stopped us on our way out, and said you're cancelling your order? I almost laughed out loud! Did he even place it? After coming from a TN trip, it was easy to see the difference in southern hospitality. I get the understaffed, overworked excuse, but really, you couldn't even give us an update or a minute of your time. Definitely need better customer service skills. I don't know his name but it was the evening of Friday, September 29, 2023.

Great welcome The welcome at this hotel was great. The staff were all friendly and obviously work hard to ensure it is a very clean place to stay. We slept well in a comfortable room. Breakfast was served until 10 every day which allowed for easy starts.

HIE in a great location came in for move-in day at liberty university. LU is literally a 6min drive away (much longer though with all this traffic). hotel is easy to get to and close to shopping, eats, and LU and other area colleges. it seems new and exterior was nice and clean. upon arrival, they had chips/snacks/sodas/water/candy all laid out - - most likely for the LU crowd. It was nice to see - with balloons everywhere. Check-in was seamless, as I had already checked in online. Guest clerk quickly got me 2 extra key cards. room was well-appointed, but on the smaller side -- we've stayed in other HIE's before and this was one of the smaller rooms we've seen - but had what you needed. in the bathroom, they had soap/lotion on the wall in pump bottles; in the shower they had shampoo/conditioner/body wash on the wall in pump bottles - very convenient!! breakfast - the pancake maker was broken =( ... they had egg omelettes (premade), sausage, potatoes, breads, cereal, yogurt, granola, milk/juice/coffee/tea. they did have pre-made pancakes in the cooler - that you could take and heat up in the microwave - so there's that. all in all - the stay here was decent, and we would most likely stay here again. just wish the rooms were bigger. oh - the gym is on the 3rd floor all the way at one end of the hallway - cycle, treadmill, elliptical, barbells, water cooler - they also have towels to use and wipes to clean off the equipment. it's barebones but it works. everyone super friendly - great staff - not afraid to work!!
