It's fine for one night It's not bad. I tried it because the number of times I've arrived in Charmartín station with luggage, & there's nowhere to store it, & this hotel is right there! Very convenient. The hotel is not expensive, & I booked a suite for about 145 euros a night. Much the same price as an AirBnb. Very large room plus a lovely big balcony where you could smoke with great views. The breakfast is 13 euros at the moment of writing, & it's ample, if not terribly appetising. I tried dinner as well, & they have quite a good menu for 19 euros. Not all the hotel staff are terribly happy, & even though I had booked a suite for 3 nights, & 3 breakfasts, I was told at dinner that I had no credit in the hotel, so could I please go back to my room, fetch my card, & pay for dinner there & then. This was somehow my fault. The decor in the suite was dated, but fine, & the bed was huge & very comfortable. The fridge didn't work, & there were silverfish in the bathroom. But I bought some ice & put it in the bidet, & invested in some bug spray. Here In the adjacent photo of the hotel, the suites are at the narrow end with 'Hotel' in neon written above them. Room service stops early & no dispatch rider with food can find the place, so there's that. Having said that, Chamartín station is currently being rebuilt, so I can sympathise. I enjoyed my stay, & if it hadn't been for my dinner experience, when I was treated as though there was something wrong with me, I'd go back.

Great for the train We didn’t arrive until after 11.30pm - thankfully the hotel is adjacent to the train station, which was great as we had an early train in the morning. Check in was quick and the staff kindly printed off some train tickets for us. Room looked fine, but I went straight to bed and we headed out early in the morning without a chance to sample the breakfast.

Security Issues Beware Unfortunately, while staying at Hotel Chamartin The One, two people were able to intrude with a card key into our locked door and room just last night (july 6, 2024). I saw one young woman and heard another as my wife and I were laying on the beds. Whennwe yelled they ran. This was highly disturbing and a major security incident in our opinion. My wife called the front desk and was told someone would come up. They didn’t. We went downstairs with all our belingings and asked for another room, which they gave us. However, what concerns us the most is they did not care, and acted like it happened all the time. This was highly disturbing to us and we never heard a word from security or management. We consider this a major security issue and a breach our privacy. There are no other inside locks here. Anybody with a card key can enter the room. Scary.

Location, location, location This hotel is ideally located for travelling into Madrid and taking the train to other areas of Spain. The train station is literally on the doorstep and the Metro too. Although there are works on the line until December which are affecting Chamartin. Atocha station is about a twenty minute train ride and connects to Barcelona/Seville/Malaga etc. The staff have been polite, friendly and helpful. There have always been staff available who can speak English and answer queries. The rooms we had have been clean and comfortable. They are similar to a UK Premier Inn, comparable to 3*. I could hear some noise from the corridor and the sound proofing is not the best but it hasn’t really disturbed me and earplugs are always worth taking on a trip. The breakfast has a good selection, including hot and cold options. I would choose this hotel if location is your priority and you’re going to make use of the excellent Spanish train network. The hotel isn’t fancy but it has been very good and overall offers decent value for money.
