Overlook the signs of wear & tear and it's a great hotel Booked this hotel on the basis it had free car parking (didn't end up going by car!) Salford Quays tram stop is literally across the road from the hotel and this was the cheapest option for the dates that we wanted. Giving our stay 5 stars because while there were signs of wear and tear in the room. It was a large comfortable room and very clean. A few plus and minor points: The shower head in room 405 is in need of replacement because water dribbled out from the sides and onto the floor despite using the shower curtain tucked into the bath. The window curtains were hanging off the rail (room 405) I liked the fact there's magnifying mirror in the bathroom (wish more hotels had this.) Only thing, the light on the mirror didn't work. As others reviewers have mentioned, the television reception is very poor. Admittedly we didn't stay to watch tv but it's nice to have something on before bed and when you're getting ready in the morning. Despite the issues, the room was certainly good value for what we paid. The hotel are in the process of refurbishing the rooms and ours had a new bed and carpets. Room 405 is at the back of the hotel overlooking the canal. Added bonus, the windows in the guest rooms can be opened. Requested some tea bags and milk one evening at reception and we were given a bag full of tea and milk. Unlike some hotels where 1 tea bag is the norm! All the staff were lovely and we had breakfast on 3 occasions which was good value for money. Plenty of choice although I'd love to see vegetarian sausages when we return next year! Oh, and while the hotel website doesn't mention a gym, there is a gym on the 2nd floor. Plenty of machines as well as free weights. Just ask at reception for access. Thank you for a lovely stay and see you again next year!

Great location and comfortable hotel. We had a lovely stay made extra special by the staff. All of them helpful and polite; food and drinks were really reasonably priced which was a real bonus. Room had an amazing view over the Quay and a fab location for our weekend activities, with A really comfortable bed; the decor was slightly dated but very smart and clean.

Staff very polite and helpful, hotel not so good.. Reception area not bad. Hotel terrible. Room very very dated, in fact the whole hotel needs a refurbishment. If you love watching telly forget it. Terrible signal, it seems to be connected to Sky Internet. On our second night from about 5pm we had no television signal at all. Staff said it was a sky fault but I’m not to sure. When we left the next morning still no television connection, but you could sign in to the internet! Our room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant staff were very polite and helpful, but like the rest of the hotel it desperately needs a refurbishment. On a positive note plenty of car park spaces and not to far from a tram stop.

Staff efforts let down by their surroundings We arrived at the hotel and the reception and bar area were lovely and the receptionist was great excellent service very knowledgeable and polite. We had travelled for 7 hours so we had a meal in the bar. The service was good but the bar staff were not often behind the bar but they were very good. Now to the room....what a disappointment this was room 327. Nothing wrong with the size about we were expecting. It was clean enough. The TV reception is poor in this day and no need for it. Only 1 bedside lamp. Very few plug sockets and the ones there in poor condition. The bathroom was a joy in it's own. A random piece of metal sticking out as you enter it. The plug in the sink leaks. The shower curtain had seen better days. The shower itself leaked everywhere. On Saturday the shower was left on a cool setting (number 2) when I stepped into it this morning it was scalding. I know there is a sign for the sink but needs looking at. The bathroom was just grubby. Finally we asked for the room to be refreshed yesterday while we were out. We did get 1 clean towel. The bins weren't emptied. There were no sanitary bags or bins. The tea and coffee supplies were not replenished. I would have expected the bed to be made. The staff do their very best but they are being let down by your premises. All in all disappointing

Second time and worse than the last! Where to start with this hotel? This is our second time here and my last review wasn’t glowing, but it’s shocking how much this place now screams “We just don’t care anymore!” It’s simpler to just list the issues - Tv in the room has garbage reception and a lot of freeview channels missing, Plug sockets in the room don’t work, Shower head sprays water horizontally over the curtain and soaks the floor, Extractor in bathroom doesn’t work, Light on shaving mirror doesn’t work, Plumbing literally screams and bangs when the cold tap is turned on (excellent in the middle of the night), Breakfast service is appalling - no fruit, no hot water, no milk, masses of uncleared tables, no plates, no dishes, no yoghurts…. I want to be fair here so let’s be honest; the staff gave us fresh towels to soak up the water from the shower issue, BUT! whoever owns/manages this hotel seriously doesn’t care about quality and value for money. It’s so simple really - if your breakfast buffet is being hammered then get on top of the problem and replenish the things running low. Don’t let it happen then wring your hands and wait for patrons to stand around holding their bowls of cereal looking for milk!!! Nobody is taking any responsibility for the serious shortcomings of this hotel and people are being ripped off.
