Pleased On the Prairie This is not the Taj Mahal but it has everything I needed for a short stay to see family. There is a TV, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, and coffee maker in the room. The TV's are hi-def but the broadcasts are standard-def. I tried the coffee. It was terrible, but I did not mind! The pillows were nice. The small staff was cheery. I tried making waffles on my last day. The waffle batter was quite good, and I thought the breakfasts were satisfactory indeed. The location was convenient, and I just felt good about this place. It was quiet. Our parking space was near. And, finally, there is an indoor pool. I was happy to see that people were using it in high summer.

There is nothing good about this place. We didn't get off to a good start here. To begin with, the desk clerk told us everything they didn't have--no first-floor rooms, no elevator, no hot items for breakfast. When we got to the room we found that it was cramped and dingy, with a chair and a rug spotted with stains and I broken window they had taped up. When we turned on the t.v. we discovered there was no cable guide (there wasn't a printed one, either), and Hulu and Netflix, while they were on the remote control, were not available. Oh well, we paid only $130 for this dump!

Baffled By the High Rating of this Hotel I am baffled. How could this hotel be the number one hotel in Marshall? From the moment I walked into the hotel, I was disappointed. The lobby was old and dingy. The receptionist had spoken to me a little, rudely, on the phone. When I arrived to check-in, she was not much friendlier than she had been on the phone. I told her I needed to have a room that animals had not slept in, because of allergies. She said they had "no" such rooms. When a hotel advertises itself as "Pet Friendly," they should still hold rooms that are "pet free." I told the clerk that if we entered the room, and it smelled, we wouldn't be able to sleep in it. The room, indeed, did smell!! In addition, the furnishings were outdated and ugly. It didn't surprise me, when I returned to the front desk and told the woman we would not be staying that she was snippy. We drove across the street and, fortunately, found very nice accommodations for the night. So, again, HOW can this be the number one rated hotel in town? I have to wonder who has written these good reviews.

Great Stay Thank You for having such a nice clean room and bathroom! Breakfast was mostly wrapped items but a good variety to chose from. Your front receptionist was very friendly and helpful for helping us navigate the area.

Southwestern Minnesota The room itself was fine and we got a good night's sleep. The bathroom not so much. The tub had a distinct ring around it, so I ran my hand around it and there was scum - you could see it. The sink had black around the metal drain hole. I used the makeup remover cloth to wipe some in the tub and it became brown, and I also used it to try to clean up the black area in the sink. I showed it to the receptionist who then offered to change our room, but when I went to check that bathroom, it was even worse. I offered to clean it myself but of course they wouldn't let me. Only one person on duty and she couldn't really leave the desk. Needless to say, the shower we wanted to take, we didn't get! The breakfast was quite good. They really need to train the cleaning staff how to clean a bathroom.
