Hampton Inn & Suites Marshalltown

Great stay Had a great stay at the Avid Hotel. Joseph A at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Rooms are also clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The room was spacious with lots of light and the hotel had a good gym. Would definitely stay again.

10/10 would recommend. I love this place. I visit Minneapolis 3-4 times a year and I ALWAYS stay at Avid. Great bed, perfect sized room, great TV. It's a short drive to minneapolis which is nice. Staff are always friendly and care. I've never had a problem here. They were even kind enough to accommodate my dogs.

Pool area disgusting. Customer Service Needs Improvement We stay at this hotel occasionally when visiting family in Iowa. I haven't left a review before, but I felt compelled to this time. We had six rooms total between the various family members attending the family reunion. I am a very low-maintenance Hilton HHonors Diamond member and just want an easy stay. When we arrived, the agent at the desk had keys all over the counter with names on them, but for some reason it took us almost 15 minutes to check in. Ordinarily, I just check in online and stop by the desk to get some waters and go. The agent was not very friendly or welcoming at all. This was an unusual experience on our trip to the midwest. We felt everyone else throughout Missouri and Iowa were exceptionally friendly. The rooms we received were clean and comfortable; no problem there. We decided to go down to the pool/hot tub while we waited for the rest of family members to arrive. The pool was disgusting. It was dirty and had used bandaids in it. The bottom of the pool needs to be resurfaced and it was rough and pitted. The hot tub was even worse! There was no water in it and there were no cones or caution tape to rope it off. A small child could easily fall into it and get seriously hurt! I was surprised this was not brought to the attention of guests when they checked in. Definitely a mid to low Hampton experience in comparison to my other experiences.

Great choice in Marshalltown Great hotel. Wonderful staff. Very clean and comfortable- from the desk to the housekeeping staff. The hotel is just off the highway, but still quiet. Not brand new, but it must be pretty close. Enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies in the lobby! Great choice in Marshalltown.

Sara saves the stay ! The hotel is very comfortable. Quick and easy off the highway. The staff is friendly and very nice. All travel needs are also close including WalMart and gas stations. After being here at this hotel for a month so far, I needed to extend my stay and checked earlier this week about it. Unfortunately I was having to check out due to a large group coming in and was told the hotel was fully booked up. As a regular traveler, I asked every day if their happened to be an opening. I walked by this evening and I asked if they were still full booked and if so, that I would be moving next door to the Holiday Inn (Boo) tomorrow. and needed a late check out. Sara was working and she said she was sorry that I was going next door but that she would see if something changed. I was happy to find out that I am now staying until I check out later next week. Thank You Sara ! Unknowing to anyone else, I have to return for another 2-4 weeks later on and I wasn't planning to stay here after I was being inconvenienced when I first originally asked. So, thank you Sara for keeping me at your hotel for the rest of this stay, and earning my return stay when I come back. Being in customer service myself, it feels good when I receive great customer service. Thank You !
