Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover This is a very nice hotel in the Matthews area. When you factor in the price added with quality this is the best hotel in the Matthews area. It is very centrally located and within walking distance to stores and restaurants. The hotel has a very chill vibe and I think a lot of the credit goes to Barbara at check in and Tabitha at check out. Both represent this hotel very well because they are both very pleasant with nice smiles and fun personalities. The rooms are great (renovated) and the beds are super comfortable. I will be back soon and Everytime I come back to Matthews (my former hometown) in the near future.

Just NASTY! The photos speak for themselves! Management should be embarrassed. Mold on the ceilings, the smell on the floors and in the rooms is UNDENIABLE! Carpets, walls, furniture, bathroom just filthy. We booked for 3 days and checked out after the first night! We complained and they changed the room which was slightly better. But I was too sceeved out to stay beyond one night.

Air Conditioning Smells From Mold or Mildew The room overall was lovely, but it smelled from a cleaning fragrance and either mold or mildew. I asked the woman at the front desk if I could change rooms, which she did for me. The second room did not smell as bad from the cleaning fragrance, but the mildew smell was bad. Both rooms were on the first floor. The floor from the entrance and into the bathroom was sticky when I walked on it with bare feet. Once I turned off the air conditioner, the mildew smell stopped. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. When I went to breakfast, I mentioned to a woman setting out the food that the device to toast English muffins was not working as my muffin came out cold. She just looked at me, made no comment and just shrugged her shoulders. Overall, not a good experience and I would not recommend this hotel.

Wet/Mold/Mildew Smell.. I was checked into a room that clearly should have been put out of order..smelled like mildew..mold stains/discoloration on back of curtains..microwave had rust..refrigerator inside handles broken..toilet rocked back & forth..light bulbs broken in lamps..many problems with this room..manager "Chet Patel" wasn't ever on property it seemed..front desk said he'd be working the morning shift, went down in the morning, he wasn't there..was told one day he'd be there in the afternoon, again not there in the afternoon..was told one day he was at the bank, was told he had a new baby at home and worked a short shift one day..any & every reason the manager wasn't available..needless to say, will not stay again at this hotel..Comfort Inn Matthews..1718 Windsor Crossing Dr..

A Nice Comfortable Stay This hotel is our property of choice whenever we visit Matthews. The staff is always very friendly. The room was very comfortable, and the hotel is located within walking distance of several restaurants and shopping venues. We are never disappointed when we stay here. We will be retuning is December.
