30 year American hotel GM opinion... I've read some Karen reviews about this place, but after being here a week, I can honestly say I am so sad to go home tomorrow. I am a General Hotel Manager myself, & this place is fantastic. The beds are heaven, the pillows awesome, the restaurant was superb for ALL meals, grounds are immaculate, linen are dazzling white, staff was on point & ALWAYS friendly--American culture is to complain about everything but we loved every minute here. Lots of shopping in walking distance, this place is a slice of heaven. So glad the mother-in-law chose this hotel for the family, we love it!

Not A Quiet Place I really wanted to like this hotel, given its location on the beach and the fact that the staff are generally friendly and hard-working. But this place has a lot of problems. The “renovated” room we were given had paper-thin walls, and we could hear the most intimate details of our neighbors. Even worse: there was constant construction noise during the day, and at night, music (from traditional Mexican music to deep house to hard rock) blared until 3-4am from the nearby clubs and the cars on the main road outside. It was brutal trying to sleep, even with ear plugs. The thumping from the bass was inescapable. Our travel companions on the other side of the hotel had the same problem. Our room had a lot of other problems, from the strange shower that leaked all over the bathroom floor, to the lack of a refrigerator, to the door that often wouldn’t unlock with our key card, despite having it replaced twice. The pool would have been nice, but it was overrun by kids. And I mean 15-20 kids at one time. It’s a shame, because there is a nice beach in front of the hotel, and the restaurant staff is great (shout-out to Ernesto, who always greeted us with a smile — and he spoke great English, too!) But if you are looking for a relaxing stay in a comfortable, quiet hotel, look elsewhere.

My idea of hell Constant thumping music until late at night. Despite being told it would stop at 8 o’clock at night it is now 21:21 and even with the door closed the base is throbbing through my entire body. Friends failed to get served at the restaurant despite waiting two hours. My idea of hell.

Hotel with dated rooms in a good location. The location is great, the pool area is very nice, and the restaurant "condimento" is great during the breakfast buffet. However, I would not recommend the hotel for the following reasons: -My room was ugly, dated, and in bad condition. Additionally, there were bugs in the ceiling. -The hallways in the hotel smelled bad due to the garbage being stored outside on the bottom floor (I have pictures) and the open property next door having a garbage disposal area right next to Emporio hotel. -The valet parking took too long to bring vehicles to customers. -The bar was attended by young people unaware of customer service, the waiters and bartenders needed to be trained. Some waiters would charge you for drinks before delivering, and others would not. Most customers had to go to the bar because waiters did not approach anybody for orders or drinks. Lastly, the bartenders would play music randomly and stop/interrupt the songs if they did not like it, making it very annoying. -It was very inconvenient not being able to bring coffee, water, or food to my hotel room. I recommend the hotel for the breakfast buffet. It has a great view, and the service during breakfast was good!

We will never ever stay there again To start with, do not trust the photos published of the hotel. they are all photoshopped. Besides, if you are searching for a room where to relax, this is not the place. they have all kind of extremely noisy private events from mid afternoon to late night (all week long) and there is not place to hide from the uncontrable decibeles produced. Also the maintenance of the place is behind its needs and the staff is not responsive, not following up claims. We had to wait more than half an hour to get our room door opened to let us in, as the battery of the lock stopped working. Then they told us that it will be repaired asap while we were at the pool and… 3 hours later it remained the same, making us to loose more time of our short holiday while the staff figured out how to change a battery. I have never given such a bad opinion, but believe me, the administration has to fic a lot of issues to make it comfortable to stay. The rooms are clean, but the only point I give is for the restaurant: ONLY AT THE RESTAURANT: the breakfast buffet is very good, the staff, service and atmosphere is pleasant there.
