Overnight in Macalester This was an overnight stop on a long trip. The motel is ok, but needs TLC. The pool was out of order, the landscaping was overgrown with weeds, and the bathroom had a light bulb out. The breakfast was good. The desk clerk was courteous and helpful.

Gr8 see night I am down here on a business trip in the middle of May. And I would like to give a shout out to Amanda at the front desk at the comfort Inn. And suites as she took care of all of my needs, me and my partner. Donnie are very pleased with what she has done and would recommend anybody to stay here.!!

Poor stay for 3 guests over Easter weekend. FYI, according to some guests I met during breakfast, the renovation here has been going on for well over a year. Went with two sisters checking on ailing brother over Easter weekend. Trouble from the get/go in getting the room reserved for them with the roll in shower. Friday night clerk was NOT knowledgeable about even having such a room. Their room had no phone dial tone as well as no TV service and very weak to non existent internet WIFI. Same problems with my room. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, heating/air units worked well. Breakfast first day was handled by staff well, second day waffle maker not powered on, orange juice not put out, coffees were not all out and the ones that were were warm, NOT hot. Neither side of four slice toaster worked correctly. Ice maker on first floor broken, had to use the ones on 2nd or 3rd floor. Day clerk was knowledgeable and courteous, evening staff not so much. Refrigerator in my room had such a buildup of frost it had broken ice cube area door. This property was not up to Choice Hotel standards, and as a former Comfort Inn Manager, I can say that with authority.

DO NOT STAY! Spend your only elsewhere The awful & unsanitary outdoor pool conditions should speak for itself with all the mold, muddy water, and debis Spend your money elsewhere. The "...under renovation..." sign posted is a total joke and clearly an attempt to excuse how terrible shape this place is in. Front desk do not take calls and if you dont believe me, try to call yourself and press option #2 and see if you get a clerk, manager, housekeeper... ANYBODY. From ALL of the entry points being unsecured and not working, to the VERY dark lighting in the hallways, and beyond the shoddy patch jobs that some handyman has done; evidently the ownership has chosen not to invest in any type of upkeep whatsoever. Absolutely no landscaping. Walls throughout show age and filth with holes in the walls among the stairways. Most who stay are contractors/workers just passing through on the job. But even they realize that this is certainly usual to say the least. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

This is not your hotel....keep looking..be forewarned This is NOT where you want to stay. If you are a family or looking for any level of class, forget it...this place is disgusting. I would've rather just slept in my vehicle, I'm from out of state and I presume it's all my employer could find in that region at the time. Everything from the exterior of the building, the landscaping and sidewalks to the interior is extremely ill managed. Deep stains in carpeting all throughout the building, hand prints on walls, door access card entry devices are failing and not working properly, ceiling grid rusted and tiles partially falling out of ceiling space, slipshod handyman efforts are EVERYwhere throughout this building, no internet capabilities, AC unit grilles rusted on exterior of building with deep rust stains running down building face, window frames not reinstalled on exterior of windows after maintenance to AC units below, large sheets of plastic everywhere which appear to have been hanging for several months if not a couple of years, walls in room are uneven and have large swaths of improperly applied and unsanded drywall mud in many locations, AC units aren't properly maintained and poor service clerk was fanning with a piece of paper as deep sweat was running down her face. The place is disgusting from the word go. Although it's spoken "this place is under renovation", there is no serious effort in renovating this building. It appears that's just a line being used. It couldn't be more clear that the owner(s) of this building simply aren't interested in spending any money and interested in any serious upgrades or renovations. The only good I can say is all the service clerks I dealt with were the nicest and most genuine of people. Extremely nice, courteous and genuine. The owners should be deeply ashamed and embarrassed for themselves for subjecting these fine clerks to this type of environment. Deeply ashamed!!! Please do not be deceived by the photo uploads shown on google business profile when the building was new, the building looks NOTHING like that now. Those photos are highly deceptive and misleading. They should be taken down by whomever uploaded them from the company back when. AT this point currently, they should just close this place down or either get serious about renovation. Please don't say I didn't warn you. This place is apparently just for contractors roughing through the region and certainly not for anyone that's concerned about elements I just mentioned. You'd be better off, putting a little more fuel in your car and driving a little further so you could find something better. No internet capability. NONE!
