La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham McAlester

Everything I hoped for! Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff (desk and breakfast) were friendly. Breakfast had all the essentials. Was close to the highway! Only $25 pet deposit fee. Everything I ever hope for in a hotel (except for pet fee)! LaQuinta doing it right!

Very disappointed, never had this issue before when staying at a La Quinta Our room was next to the wall where all the water pipes were. It was so loud, constant water running and every 5 seconds would be a loud gurgle. This repeated for hours. In the middle of the night I walked down to the front desk to ask what we could do about the noise. There was no one at the front desk. I knocked on a locked door and got no answer. I called the front desk 3 times and got no answer. I was not rude or ugly, even though I had to hunt her down. She was outside smoking. I had a decent conversation with the lady at the front desk. However, I was not given all the options. I was told to contact the manager when she came in next. Upon check out, I let the front desk know about the issue and we got no sleep. The staffer told me that I was told about specific options I had, but we declined them. That is absolutely untrue! I got no options and had no option of anything to decline! We did not get those options or we would have taken them! I was treated like I was a liar, I was looked down upon, and she all but treated me like I was stupid for not already knowing what options I had. How am I supposed to know their policies? And apparently they don't know them either, because they were not presented to me. I was told there is nothing they will do, not "can" but "will" do. That is a big difference. So be warned, if you have any issues, you will be given the middle finger and treated poorly. It really stinks when you are the one having a problem, you're nice about it, but get treated like garbage.

Rate it a ten out of ten Great room was very very clean bed was very comfortable I have neck and back issues so if it was for me most people would also think so. We were visiting family and two families stayed here and they said their room was very clean and bed comfortable.

Ok - if you have pets Stopped in late (3AM) after a long drive to get a few hours sleep. Despite the 3AM arrival, was not offered any discount even though we were only going to be there a few hours. I asked for a cheap room and was told “we don’t have anything cheap”. Apparently 3AM is the gotcha hour? Room appeared nice, but smelled overwhelmingly of pets. Almost too much to bear, but family was tired and I did not want to deal with staff again. Slept a few hours and left displeased - seems the maintenance is very lacking to control pet odor. Will likely seek other options in McAlester next time.

Hard to get to, and ANTS From the south this was very hard to get to with the construction work (July 2024). Also we woke up to hundred of ants on our bathroom sink area. So gross
